I really loved the fact that everything for carnival surrounds the Savannah, it made a super easy to never get lost but also the carnival village was great with all the steal bands

I jogged the Savannah on my first day in POS as a way to purge the overnight plane ride from my system. It stands out to me as one of the most pleasant things I've ever done. I was able to take in the 'feel' of Trinidad just by circling the Savannah. The mountain views off in the distance were breathtaking - to me it was a respite in spite of the cars whizzing by. The Savannah is flanked by the Botanical Gardens and a Zoo among other things, but I didn't visit either of those. As in other large cities, there are some homeless people, but this did not bother me, and using your street smarts is always a good idea anyway. The best sign to me was that the park was well-used by locals. If it's good enough for them, then it's good enough for me!Also visited for the Panorama competition and just to lime. Vendors selling food and souvenirs throughout if that's your thing.

I've been here a few times while visiting Port of Spain. I ran and jogged around the Savannah while we stayed at Bay Side Towers, it was a great run and walk, a lot of talks with some friends and off course some good coconut water from the vendors around the Queens's Park Savannah. I love the view and the scene of the magnificent 7, I just wish that they upgrade them, so the view could be more picturesque. The place is just beautiful, my mom and siblings used to spend time at the old Stollmeyers Castle and they have great stories about that with our Grandfather. Its fun for sports as well with the family or picnic, a lot of space for all that and funn for the entire family...I need to visit more often....

This is a huge open park, as the name suggests. It is where many of the big events in Trinidad take place. There is a running/walking track around the perimeter that is 2.4 miles long. There are coconut water and son cone venders all along the Savannah which are cheap and good. However, if you are visiting it is best to always be with another person when walking around the Savannah and definitely do not go at night as it is not always safe.

Well, the greatest show on earth has come to an end. As usual, the carnival was just full of beautiful costumes with beautiful ladies inside them. The Queens park savannah and the socadrome were well patronized ,clearly, the foreign visitors had a great time. Soca music rule ,played on pan and by d j's on music trucks. Hats off to all that played a role in making our carnival the best. Thanks.

Who knew you could get fresh authentic food from pop-up tents in Queens Park Savannah? You can find delicious, Shark n Bake, Corn Soup, Falafel, BBQ Chicken, Fresh Squeezed juices (along, with Sorrel, Seamoss, Peanut Butter Punch) all served from pop-up tents in the park. There really is no need to search for fancy restaurants, everything you could possibly want is at the park, authentic, delicious and reasonably priced. You will find many locals here, tents start popping up around 6pm. Don't miss it!

Get a taste of the Calypso, the music and the lime at nights. Food and juices are on sale. Already the stands are being erected for the 2015 shows.

The Savannah is considered to be the largest round-a-bout in the world. It is like a Hugh park with some rolling hills and a rock garden. It is a Sunday hangout for family. Make sure you stop and enjoy coconut water sold by the vendors from their carts.

De Savannah is a wonderful place to take a run, leisurely stroll and admire the Magnificent 7 (which shows the diversity of architecture from diverse cultures that have been in the country). Enjoy all natural coconut water right from the shell by a skilled vendor who will slice it open for you. Fly a kite or when available local horse racing or a game of cricket. Many options to this large roundabout and park.

The Savannah is a popular outdoor area used for walking, soccer, even extreme frisbee. It is comparatively safe in peak times but to be avoided otherwise. The 'Magnificent Seven' buildings around the Savannah are impressive, even though some are run down and others undergoing renovations. It is an interesting walk.

Growing up in Trinidad, I often visited the savannah from an early age to present. Its a landmark location in the city. Every trini should have visited here. Jogging, food, sight seeing, kite flying etc can be done here. I dont visit the savannah as often now but it is relatively safe once you have numbers on your side.
