Visit the OPP Museum at 777 Memorial Avenue to find out about the history of this great organization

Anyone who is curious at all about the history and evolution of the OPP should take advantage of the museum.

An outstanding presentation of OPP history and OPP community involvement. Pick up a detailed exhibit booklet upon entering, take a guided tour on your own. Exhibits are creative, some interactive. Children will be well entertained. If your lucky a staff person will be available to answer questions. If by chance you are a former member, bring in that keepsake stuff that you have been saving for who knows what and give it to the collection, you too have a story to tell.Check open hours!

Be prepared to spend some time there. Lots of history & interesting stories. The staff have a wealth of knowledge & there are many exhibits which they can explain in detail.There's a cafeteria serving breakfast & lunch & also a shop selling memorabilia & clothing, caps etc.

the reason I went was to see the old police cars. it was worth the drive itself. There was lots to choose from in the gift shop something for everybody whether your a hat type of person or shirts or just little things. I here maybe 2 years ago so ignore the date of visit

We've been a couple of times to this museum over the past couple of years, once was during a family day activity day - which had lots of other activities going on at the station as well as in the museum. Today we were visiting Orillia and had some extra time so we thought we would pop by. We were visiting with four kids - ranging from 4-8. We stayed for about 1 hour and in that time I was allowed to look around while the kids mainly stayed in the kids zone and went through all of the activities. There were some nice little activities for them as well as a puppet show for me at the end performed by the kids :)

We start in the museum by ourselves. There was no guide or staff to assist. Maybe it was the day we went (midweek). We didn't realize until we were half way thought that you could pull out drawers to see more information. The kids were a little bored but the did like the dress up area.

Took my grandson for a visit and was disappointed. There are a few old police cruisers to see plus whatever use to be in some police vaults.There should be more inter active displays for the younger visitors.

Since I am into museums and history, this is why I rated this very high. Located on the ground floor the OPP GHQ building, this small and free l musem does justice to the history of this provincial police service. There are stand up displays plus hands on demonstrations. They have a curator along with a small staff to devote to this knowledge base for the general public to learn. Although this musem isn't the size of the Mettro Toronto Police musem, the OPP musem manaages to hold its own!

My daughter had fun here. just a time filler. nothing spectacular though. If you need to blow 30 minutes to an hour and you have an interest in the OPP, then you might like it.

It was cool to see some what was there: old cruisers, equipment and such. But I would have expected a lot more. There must be a ton of stuff in the archives. However, as always, it costs a lot to organize it all, and nobody knows about this place anyway.

If you are interested in some recent history, there is a bit here, although focused in a small area of knowledge. Interesting, some neat displays.

If you like police work related stuff you will like this place. It's right on the first floor of the headquarters in Orillia. It's free and worth a visit if you are in the area.

As a mature couple we enjoyed an hour in the museum. plenty of well presented material. It is particulaly well laid out for children.

Some interesting displays, a few interactive kid things, and some old police vehicles. 30 minutes will cover it, but it's free an interesting diversion on a rainy day at the cottage.
