Seeing the sheep in their natural habitat and learning about them is a fun experience for all ages. The wool shop has a very good selection of yearns, blankets, hats, dryer balls ( for decreasing time clothes are in the dryer), gloves, sheepskins, etc. In addition during the summer on Sundays we enjoyed the small Farmers Market. The shop also sells frozen legs of lamb, sausages and ground lamb plus some cookies, sweets. Wooden lambs with a hole for your face make a good photo opportunity.

We were in the area when the farm's annual festival day was taking place. They had some lambs out so children could see them, there was sheep shearing to view, a craft for kids (easier for younger and harder for older), wagon rides as well as displays about wool and sheep and many people demonstrating working the wool. And it was all FREE! We spent a couple of hours there. They did have lamb sausages and hot dogs for sale which we did try.

Went during summer and saw a lot of sheep gazing in the fields. The shop had nice woolen items for purchase. There is a free wagon ride(on weekends for sure) which will take you around the field. If you see the BBQ guy there make sure you try the lamb BBQ.

This beautiful shop has a wonderful variety of sheep items. Very cute kits to make felted projects and knitted hats. Beautiful blankets and sheep skins. The prices for skeins of wool 200 grams $5.95, enough to make a hat were not expensive at all. Sheepskin hats, slippers and mitts were all beautifully made and reasonably priced. I would love to go back and get a duvet. The barn was fascinating. I will definitely be going back. Very nice young man working there.

Looking for a sheepskins for our bedroom, the Lismore Sheep farm came up near the top on our Internet search. Having only found their website to attract us, we visited the farm on Friday the 13th. And a very pleasant surprise in rural Nova Scotia greeted us; we are on a farm but it was the neatness and cleanliness of the farm which impressed us the most. The gift shop has been recently enlarged and by making use of an existing structure looks impressive and filled to the rafters with top quality craft items. They sell at the weekend New Glasgow and Halifax markets but there is a larger selection of everything at the farm shop. Everything is of top quality and there is an amazing assortment of sheep based items, incuding sausage. After our purchase we roamed around and we were impressed with the size and airiness of the stalls and information provided. The public toilet is ordourless and spotless.

It was a joy to see the sheep in the barn, which smelled of nothing but freshly mowed hay. The gift shop was filled with unusual and quality items. The young man working in the shop was extremely pleasant. Unfortunate timing as one of the barns was closed due to lambing. It was truly a delightful experience.

I have bought many things here over the years and have never been disappointed. The products are second to none and the children love to see the live animals while I shop. A wonderful day trip that we do a few times a year.

I loved this shop and could have spent so much money in here but unfortunately there was not enough space in my suitcase. I bought a lovely sheepskin hat which will always remind me of my trip to Nova Scotia. It is not inexpensive but everything is great quality and supports local businesses.

We spotted the signs as we were driving to Pictou from Tatamagouche. I love wool and so we had to go here. Although we caught the farm in mid afternoon the owners were friendly and said we were fine to go see the sheep and cattle. After baa-ing and moo-ing at the livestock we went back in to the shop. A lovely environment with pretty much every fleece related product you could imagine. After spotting a hat I wanted I asked about the source. Turned out happily that all the products were knitted locally using the wool from the farm. Might sound obvious but you need to ask sometimes! Anyway I bought a hat and resisted buying more socks as we were tight on weight for our flights back to Wales as it was!In summary; great friendly place and if you like wool, you'll really love Lismore Farm.

This business showcases the best of rural Nova Scotia sheep farming right up to selling wool and wool products, some quite innovative, like wool dryer balls-great alternative to fabric softener. They sell prepared kits to knit specific patterns in creative wools and dyes. Sheepskin insoles and hand knit items are also featured. As a side business, wooden knitting needles are sold also-back to the past with this traditional item. In the barn there's lots to see and learn about the sheep, shearing, and all various stages in wool production-all very low key and accessible.
