This is a bit challenging track for a family but certainly worth the effort. It is all in all a 380 metr climb with plenty of spray on the upper part. Fun

The Krimml falls are best seen in the summer months, as in the winter, there was limited access and facilities. Just up the hill on the right is a fantastic guest house with good food and drinks. Not recommended for disabled as quite a rugged path/walk.Good for views, pictures and sightseeing. We had a car, so went for a scenic drive, but most resorts have buses to get you there in summer.

A must visit for people who can walk a few miles on hills. .. as u walk down from the top of the mountain along the trail that goes side by side of the waterfall, u get to feel the power of mother nature in form of this gigantic waterfall (5th highest in the world). And at times the mist generated from the falls drenches you giving u a feeling of relaxation. A must visit with caution. Only people who have capacity to walk are recommended. You can take a cab to the top of mountain and then walk down the trail next to the fall.

My only complaint is that you have to pay to park then walk a while to get to the falls. Otherwise once you are away from the town, the falls are beautiful. Try to avoid weekends when it can get crowded.

The power of the water going down the mountain was quite spectacular not to be missed. be prepared for a good old hike up though and remember to wear a sturdy pair of shoes/boots and not motorcycle kit like us.

Fantastic day out walking up this waterfall and then on into the alpine pastures beyond where you can stop at the Veitenalm and have some food and drink....

spent time here with Justgo holidays and what a fantastic day and views of the waterfall. after climbing 6000 feet up we came to the falls and stopped off for photos and a walk up the mountain to see more of this beautiful landscape. the cafe's have a good selection at the bottom and shops there as well have plenty of items on sale at good prices.

I have previously trekked the Krimml Wasserfalle twice and the view is spectacular. But this time we did it a bit backwards! We did take the buses into the end station Tauernalm, I think it is called, and then we walked some two more hours into the end of the trek / road. As it was an amazing day, clear blue skies and there had been a little snow during the night on the mountaint tops, it was an amazing walk. It is quite easy to walk the first two hours, you follow the road that goes slightly upwards, but not steeply. After two hours the road comes to a dead stop and you either decide to sit down and pack up your picknick - nothing to eat here - or continue off the beaten track. Mind you, here it goes up, up and as you are around 2000 metres or so, your breath vanish quite quickly. From the Tauernalm and up we only found one small "alm" - guesthouse" selling cheese. So do bring something to eat and drink. The walk back to the "alm" is a bit quicker as it goes down a little, but you still will have to set aside at least four hours to and from your starting point. If the weather is nice you will be able to see far away - and don't miss out on the film in the basement of the alm. Here you can see a short history of the conditions for the farmers in "olden days".

Visited the falls on September, and booked Zimmer in Krimml (Burgeck panoramahotel). Most Zimmer will give you a discount for visiting the falls. If you have hiking sticks, take them with you, it is a 1460m of climbing to the top of the falls and it worth it, as high as you get, less people you'll see. Fees - parking at P1 for 5 hours was about 10€. Entrance to the falls was 6€ for 2. Driving the Alpin road was 8€.

Well worth a visit. The views were breathtaking. A long walk to the top but worth it if you are fit. Lovely little shop at the base of waterfall. Two little cafes which were quite nice.

Krimml waterfalls its great place and very beautifulIf you want to arrive to the top of the falls I recomand to walk on the trail that get to the the top its only 4 kilometres and the weather is great because the trees on the trail there is some stations and you can see from there the fall and there is some rest stations after you arivve to the top and you come back down I recomand to go more 100meters to the bottom of the falls its very refreshing

We loved our walk up the falls. Even our kids (aged 6 & 4) didn't complain too much! They were delighted with themselves when they got to the top - the promise of an ice cream when we got back to the bottom helped. We stopped at the restaurant on the way up for lunch which was great. Gorgeous location and a nice easy hike.

Impressive piece of nature! Quite a challenge to climb up the mountain alongside the falls but definitely worth it. Do visit the interactive Wasserwelten parc if you travel with kids! It's very cool and they offer combined tickets to this parc, the falls and Parking 4. It can be a very busy place though as every single tourist bus seems to make this place a regular stop....

Beautiful location. Need to be reasonably physically fit as lot of uphill and downhill walking, but well worth the effort.
