Fully renovated ancient monastery located in very romantic place, on the top of the hil. Nice cafe bar to have a rest.

Bodbe Monastery nestles between tall Cyprus trees on a steep hillside overlooking the Alazani valley, where it commands incredible views of the Great Caucasus Range. The monastery is the final resting place of Saint Nino, 'Enlightener of Georgians. Down the hill from the monastery church, the bell-tower lies the Spring of Saint Nino, where pilgrims - or visitors - are meant to plunge themselves three times into the frigid water. The water is so numbing that it is difficult to experience the deep cold, the only feeling being an experience of tingling skin and refreshed pores after emerging into the fresh air.

Interesting place, particularly if you can get in to see where Saint Nino is buried (one the chanting nun has finished and let's you get in!). Definitely worth going to see. The gardens and grounds are well-kept and very peaceful, and the views are wonderful.

It's a bit of a tourist magnet, but nonetheless the church features beautiful frescos. A steep walk (approx. 600 steps) takes you to the St Nino spring which is covered by a stone hut. When we visited it was full of pilgrims having a very load group shower, slightly bizarre.

About a 45 minute walk from the town as well as 700 plus steps down hill to a holy spring. Beautiful country side too.

Church that dates back to christianity roots in Georgia, St. Nino's (symbol of Georgian Christianity) burial place, icons, peace, everything around the place. Had been there several times in the past, but every time I go unbelievable piece is coming from the place.

St. Nino's and St. George's Churches are under construction (or heavy restoration), as well as the landscape and the well-tended garden is not much more. If you want see or take holy water from St. Nino's springs you go for about one thousand steps...

Beautiful little spot with fantastic views of the Kakheti region. Go to St. Nino's Holy Spring and you can enjoy wathing the pilgrims take in the waters and fill their, sometimes very large, vessels with water from the spring. It is a perfectly enjoyable activity to add to your visit to Sighnaghi.

Besides architectural and historical value there is a Holy Springs. You know yourself what it is for if you're Christian or otherwise I still recommend as the water is uniquely delicious and bathing in ice-cold small pool is unforgettable)

If you come walking from the town, Is a 3km walk up hill and down hill, by taxi is 3-4 lares. When you arrive, you can see the Bodbe monastery but is behind a wall and after the garden, that you can not step on it. the garden is amazing and perfectly cared by the nouns. Next to the Monastery is the Holy spring where Georgian people believe that it can help you if drink it or even bath on the water. The gardens are pretty but the monastery is too far away to be able to appreciate it. If the place in on your way, visit it, if not, no worries. #smallfishbigworld

Bodbe Monastery is very sacred site for Georgian Christians - burial place of the revered St Nina - views are superb and the complex is well looked after. Main church is really something

The Monastery of St. Nino at Bodbe (Georgian: ბოდბის წმინდა ნინოს მონასტერი, bodbis ts’minda Ninos monasteri) is a Georgian Orthodox monastic complex and the seat of the Bishops of Bodbe located 2 km from the town of Sighnaghi, Kakheti, Georgia. Originally built in the 9th century, it has been significantly remodeled, especially in the 17th century. The monastery now functions as a nunnery and is one of the major pilgrimage sites in Georgia, due to its association with St. Nino, the 4th-century female evangelist of Georgians, whose relics are shrined there.

This is a "must visit" place in Georgia. There is nothing I can say about more; this place should be interesting not only for pilgrim travellers but to vast audience as well.
