Highly recommended!! its fascinating and well worth going round all the old town searching for all the spots illuminated as well as the main cathedral displays.

Take a stroll around the old part of the city and see the fabulous laser and light show on the cathedral and buildings around this area. The best part of town and a free light show in the summer.

What a great couple of hours. The light shows were very well done. The cathedral was very pretty . It was amazing how they made the people come to life.

I have been to this for a couple of years and think the displays are wonderful. My daughter and I spent a very full and pleasant evening there. My husband is in a wheelchair and the cobbled streets would have been a problem for him, however, there is disabled parking outside the cathedral and it is possible to see the walls from the parking alongside the riverfront.

We did two tours - firstly the general sights of Le Mans - the talk was in ensign from a local person and very interesting pointing out facts that we would otherwise never have known / it really was a great way to see the town in a fun easy way - we combined this with a discounted second trip of le nuit de chimera where all the main buildings are lit by an amazing laser show telling a very unique story of the history and legends of Le Mans - if you get the opportunity it is very worth it .

Such a lovely evening. Had a nice meal at Verre De Tige and then when it began to get dark we followed a map provided by our hotel (Ibis Centre Ville) to the various sites of lights. There were also many additional lights, I believe you could get a tick-off map to collect the various little demons and devils on the streets of the old town!Very clever was the Cathedral, which were actually moving lights, which I wasn't aware that they'd be! and the White Lady. They have a water system in a courtyard in the centre where they have created the ghost of a white lady. There was also a table of moving figures singing choral music, which my mother particularly enjoyed.Nice thing was that the tourism office remained open until the very late point to help, very clever idea.

We stayed over in a lovely apartment in the old town for a couple of days on our way down south, the evening in the old town is just magical. The projections on to the cathedral and onto the old walls facing the river are the fantastic, and banquet scene in a street in the old town is great. If you are near Le Mans in July or August, this is a must.An evening to be remembered.

Incredible free show of projected images on buildings, including Cathedral. Quite amazing for all ages. Beautiful part of France with lots to offer, including the amazing Le Mans track and museum.Very popular, so book restaurant in advance if you want to eat during the evening. Runs until 31st August and really needs to be seen to be believed. I absolutely loved it. Quirky little streets with a surprise around every corner. Lots of steps and cobbles, so choose footwear with this in mind. A definate must see if you are in the area.

The projections to the front of the cathedral and onto the old walls facing the river are the two main attractions, followed by the show over the rear door of the cathedral and banquet scene in the old town. If you are in or close to Le Mans in July or August, particularly if the evening weather is good, it is worth the visit to see the spectacle, but I wouldn't travel any greater distance solely for the show. If you have young children, it is a magical experience for them.Having seen it for three years, as we were eating in the local restaurants, the display is the same each year and each is on a continuous loop, every 15 minutes or so. It will take just over an hour to see them all. I believe not all the displays mid-week are operational, so bear this in mind.An added attraction to the Plantaganet area of the city, which in itself is worth visiting.

This is a free lights show where objects are beamed onto the Cathedral depicting historical events. This takes place after dark during the Summer months. Worth watching following a meal in one of the restaurants in the Marie square close by.

This, and the other attractions in Le Mans, really provide everyone with a good reason to visit and stay for a couple of days. Lots to see and do as well as all the other things France has to offer. Highly recommended

Totally creative and magical, you enter a dreamworld. Throughout the magnificently restored Plantagenet city of Le Mans, this lightshow unfolds as you pass by the Romanesque and gothic cathedral, the Gallo Roman Walls, Richard the Lionhearted's widows ghost appears...You needn't follow a particular path or time Schedule, and can spend anywhere from 10 min to 2 hours enjoying all the lights and sights.

Images are projected upon the monuments in Le Vieux Mans, and you can easily walk from one projection to another through cobbled streets. Some street lamp shades also show strange beings...the best (according to me) are the 2 projections on the ciy walls.

We visited on a Monday - apparently a few elements of the show don't run on Mondays but really, there was still plenty to see. It was really rather quiet which added to the magical atmosphere (but it meant there were fewer restaurants to choose from). The display on the Cathedral is stunning.

We visited Le Mans for one night in August and decided to stay there mainly to see this as we had read other reviews. We had a lovely meal in the old part of town and then explored the cobbled streets with our children afterwards. It was absolutely amazing and a very different experience to any other we've ever had. It was completely free and, although there were plenty of people around, it was not overcrowded and the light shows were all very different and very entertaining. Would highly recommend if you are in the area. The kids LOVED it!!!
