I booked a stag weekend to Edinburg and also arranged for some shooting at Winton House in January 2015. From booking to the actual shooting the team at Winton House could not be more helpful. We all were encourage to safely learn several traps during the clay shoot by Gordon and 2 other members of the team. not only was it a fun experience, its clear the team are passionate about what they do and could not have done more to help.very much rated and recommended and its close to the city when you need a beer or two to warm up. thank you to all at Winton House

We have organized a private event for our whisky lovers' group recently, which includes clay pigeon shooting at the estate, followed by a lunch in the chamber room and a private whisky tasting. It is such a big fun, and a masculine activity. Thanks to John for organizing this and Janis to make it happen.

I came to Winston Estate for a dinner as part of a reunion weekend for an American university. We were a group of about 40 people from all over Europe and from the USA. It was perfect! We were welcomed by a piper and then warmed up with a glass of champagne by one of the fires, before the laird welcomed us all to his house and told us a bit about the history of the house, an informal chat which made us feel at home. The dinner was great. Scottish dishes with a modern take. Very good quality and just the right portion size. Delicious! We had coffee in the next door room and then returned to the dining room which had been cleared for a ceilidh. The band with caller had us all dancing. First ceilidh ever for most of us!We left just before midnight and were given a goodie bag with whiskey and a glass.A very memorable evening!

My company was here for a team building in June 2014 and we were heartily welcomed by the General Manager. First we were given a talk on the history of the family and the estate and then offered a tour of the house accompanied by a cup of coffee or tea. The activities (hovercraft, archery, clay pigeon shooting) were very well organised by knowledgeable people and cold drinks were offered throughout the day. The falconry part (as a group) was particularly memorable. The barbecue lunch outdoors was a real treat! The food exceeded all expectations (very high quality) and eating outside in the sun (not to be taken for granted in Scotland) was a highlight! I can't recommend Winton enough! I would love to come back some day!

Went to Winton House on the day of their Fun Day at Easter. Was a bit disappointed paying £4 for the carpark/gardens but the £5 I then paid for the tour of the house was very much worth it. Perhaps the weather meant their were less stalls etc than I expected but the own who took us round the house was brilliant. She had such a lot of information to share with us and was happy to take us round the whole house. The view from the top of the spiral staircase is breathtaking. Had a lovely afternoon tea in the coffee shop which finished off the day (even though it was too crammed for the amount of visitors that day).

Winton House offers an amazing environment - fulfilling everyone's dream of the best aspects of life in Scotland! The period interiors are inviting, and stuffed with historic treasures. The gardens and grounds are stunning. Overall the atmosphere is both imposing and yet genuinely homely too. Also, the place is managed as part of a country estate with a genuine sense of social and environmental responsibility, and a vision for sustainability.

Two of our best friends decided after a loooooong time to tie the knot. The venue, Winton House near Peacaitland. They "hired" the whole place, and we were all free to wander about in these fantastic rooms, except the doors marked Private, and take in the paintings, books and anything you want. It's probably easier to look here.http://www.wintonhouse.co.uk/Suffice it to say the Day was memorable. 3 course meal, wine, superb service and Staff!I couldn't rate the experience better. We didn't stay, but I believe the whole B&B thing was as good as the day itself!

After searching for a venue for our Christmas event, we decided on Winton House. The preview tour was amazing and I knew that the American Bridge group would love the Winton House. As our coach approached the house, the bagpipper began playing and continued to play as we entered the house. My staff were in awe! The house was decorated perfectly and the fireplaces crackled and provide the perfect winter setting. Kerry welcomed our group, gave a history of the house and invited us all to make ourselves at home. The night proceeded exactly as we planned with drinks, dinner, dessert and after dinner drinks. The evening ended with each of us getting a gift bag from Winton House in which we placed our staff Christmas gift, a picture puzzle of the new Forth Crossing Bridge.

For a reunion of old friends we organised a fun weekend in Edinburgh. Our time at Winton House was absolutely one of the highlights and we all had a fantastic time! The main part of our day was made up of a clay pigeon shooting session under the expert guidance of Billy Gordon, among others 22 times Scottish champion and tutor of two American Presidents. This eagle eyed champion showed us the ropes at different challenging stands with patience and humour. Both novices and experienced hunters learned a lot and had fun in the competition! After the shooting in the beautiful grounds of Winton House we warmed up during the tour of the house, admiring the history, atmosphere and interior of this unique place. Where else could you admire Van Dyk's and Canaletto's in a private home with close connections to British history? To complete the day we had a thoroughly enjoyable whisky tasting led by a real expert in the matter. In the 15th century cellar he put our taste buds to the test and enlightened us not only on the production, mysteries and qualities of the "water of life" but also gave us some insider's views of the whisky industry. Fascinating and entertaining! As a final remark: what struck us at Winton House was the friendliness and hospitality with which we were received. It felt more like coming to a friend's house than a hotel or "events business". It was a unique experience and we certainly hope to come back for more!

A wonderful experience where the host - the Earl - has tea with you. The chef is one of the best in Scotland - even the haggis was great! The House is open for your viewing - no red velvet ropes to keep you from examining VanDykes and letters from Mary Queen of Scots. We are returning this summer and can't wait!!
