A wide sweep of pristine sand, a joy to walk along, or view from the wonderful coastal path. Noticed that there seems to be some work underway to create more sand dunes, presumably to protect the many houses which are so close to the beach

When to this beach today for a winter walk to blow away the cobwebs. Having moved to the area just before Xmas we love exploring at weekend and had been recommend this as a lovely beach . They were not wrong. Clean yellow sand, rock pools. Clean water and miles and miles of it. Beautiful views . Village looks like something out of harry potter. We will be back when the sun shines as I think we have found our local summer hide out but a lovely winter walk in the mean time. Very few people just a couple of families and dog walkers but everyone was so friendly and went out of there way to say hello

Beautiful golden sands. How a beach should be! Well sheltered in the bay. A perfect place for children building sandcastles!

Very clean beach, safe for very young children, activities for the older children e.g. sailing. We have been holidaying in Elie for 8 years now and just love the beach.

This has to be one of my favourite places.......even in the summer it is quiet.Stretching from elie to earls ferry the coast is stunning.....with a beautifully clean beach. A sprinkling of beach huts.....that you can hire....see the ads in the paper shop.

I've been to Elie loads of times when I was younger and to be honest I mustn't have appreciated it at the time. Now going back with my two kids 8&6 I really was impressed with the place. We parked in the harbour car park and had our picnic at the picnic tables, the place was spotlessly clean and obviously well looked after. Then decided to walk through village to the west end and along the beach which was also clean and free from pollution. This gave the kids a chance to take their socks and shoes off and have a paddle. The beach wasn't too busy and had a nice mix of families and dog walkers enjoying the fine weather and we had a great time skimming stones and my youngest had a great time putting a large handful of sand down my back(how I laughed). The toilet facilities at the harbour area were also very clean which is always good when you have kids.Really nice place we were lucky with weather but I still think it would be worth a visit even on a stormy day.

Elie in the September sun is great. We parked at the harbour car park - very reasonable charge- and had a cappuccino and a sandwich from the little kiosk next to the harbourmaster's office. There are lovely picnic benches where you can enjoy your picnic and the view out to sea. Sadly, there wasn't a game of cricket on the beach - which is always fun to watch.

Great wide bay with lovely sand. But, being East Scotland, don't expect hot sunny weather. We had wind, rain, even hail, and sunshine. But it was cold, so not for sunbathing. It confirmed my view that in Scotland 'going topless' means not wearing your woolly hat.

It's a lovely beach. Clean and tidy. It's not a very windy beach either. The sea was actually pretty warm Aswell.

Having never visited this area, let alone realise it was only a short drive from my home, Within minutes of arriving I fell in love with this area, all local facilities cater well for tourists & the local holiday lets are amazing and well maintained. I intend to make regular visits back to the area as it holds fond memories and the beach allows all age groups to run free with out the worries of pollution, dirt or rubbish. The Whole town is clean and well presented.

We recently did some coasteering along the Elie coastline with a company called Clan Adventures. Basically involves us donning wetsuits, helmets then jumping into the sea and travelling along the Elie coastline to find amazing views and participating in many cliff jumps into the sea (some as high as about 30ft), along with scrambling in and out of the water, traversing along cliff faces, exploring caves and admiring with awe, the huge basalt columns (reminiscent of the Giants Causeway) that make up some of the cliffs, and doing the Elie Chain walk (hauling yourself up a cliff face with the aid of a large metal chain). It cost us £40 each for about 3 hours of non-stop action and enjoyment. I couldnt find a link to Clan Adventures on here but I'df thoroughly recommend giving them a go if you fancy doing something a little different whilst in Fife.

A lovely area with good parking and signposting to the most stunning beach areas. Picnic tables and walk along the coast of great historic interest. Just go!
