We have been to this theatre for about 5 or 6 years running now for their pantomine and have always enjoyed the experience, the cafe is well run and the staff very friendly,it's a little gem of a place and well worth a visit
Ashamed to say this was my first time visiting this Theatre in my local area. A modern theatre with comfy roomy seating, nice big Bar/Cafe/Foyer area with plenty of seating and comfy sofas. We attended the Deadly Murder play, was enjoyable if maybe a wee bit overacted by the two gentleman actors, but we had a nice evening out and will look out for future productions
We saw 'Deadly Murder' which was well acted - it was good to see a serious play, rather than another 'musical' offering.I have to say, the staff at the Queens - at all points of contact - are really very good indeed and deserve much praise.Unlike the seating in the bar/foyer area. To have huge sofas 'taken' by just two people when the majority of customers have to stand is ridiculous. Presumably they are meant to look casual and inviting but they actually create a lot of resentment. Sort it Queens.
I have seen quite a few shows here and every one was great. Great range of shows, facilities great too. I have always had great view of the stage and the foyer entertainment is really good too.
The Queens is an excellent theatre, ideal for audiences as all seats have good views and comfortable seats unlike some west end theatres. Recently saw Deadly Murder, good storyline, well acted, more like this will keep th audiences coming back and keep the Queens open in the long term.
We attend all of the productions at the Queens Theatre, utilizing the excellent Jump the Q scheme, which is terrific value for money. They show a wide range of plays, ranging from murder mysteries to farce, all performed brilliantly by the very talented Cut to the Chase repertory company. The facilities are good: a well stocked bar and cafeteria, comfortable seats, friendly staff. I am sure that you would not find any better in the West End. We are so lucky to have such a fine facility on our doosteps.
I enjoyed yet another night of outstanding drama last night. The three talented actors led us through a night of twists and turns. A great night out and fantastic value for money. Well done to everyone.
Took my Beaver Scouts to see Tarzan by the lighting drama group, the show was great and the children really enjoyed the show.
The theatre maintains a generally high standard, whether with amateur or profession performances. We attended a local amateur group production of an early Andrew Lloyd Webber musical "The likes of us". No memorable tunes but a colourful and enjoyable show.
This Theatre hold so many events, from local music school event, comedy nights, panto to full stage shows... The bar is good and there are small vendors selling ice cream and some sweets etc. The reviews are generally very good and i have been to alot of shows and night out.. Great for a local and you do find alot of people coming from outside the area. Comedy night are normally great fun. But but the Panto was the best this year ever... well done
My sister, brother-in-law, myself and my hubby went to see “Sleeping Beauty” on Saturday 10 January 2015 and had a great evening. The costumes were gorgeous and the lighting, sound and sets were great. Our favourite character was the wicked Fairy Carabosse played brilliantly by the talented Carol Sloman. All the usual family fun with singing and clapping and the kids (and adults) boo-ing the wicked fairy whenever she appeared!!We sat in Row D with a great view of the stage. Although as the theatre is small, I think all seats generally have a good view. There is a large car park but best to go early to secure a spot as it does get very busy. There is a bar and lounge area, café with seating and access for wheelchair users. There is a lift and a spacious area for wheelchair users in the theatre. The panto is a definite “must see” and very good value for money.Hope you enjoy!
My wife and I took our two grandchildren to see the panto', Sleeping Beauty, on Friday 2 January. We have been regulars at the lovely Queen's Theatre since moving into the area six years ago and have seen some really great shows there. This traditional theatre is ideally situated adjacent to a pay and display car park and, for anyone using public transport, is also convenient for nearby bus stops. On arrival at the theatre, we were greeted by very friendly and helpful theatre staff before being shown to our seats. The auditorium is set out with conventional theatre seats which are tiered to provide a good view of the stage from all angles (unlike a lot of theatres nowadays which are multi-purpose venues with free standing un-tiered seats and restricted views). Although the theatre is fairly small, which gives it a great friendly ambience, it is very comfortable with the seats providing more than adequate leg room. We considered ourselves to be very fortunate to get seats on row D with a terrific view for the exceptionally fabulous panto' 'Sleeping Beauty'.The panto' was absolutely amazing, and, all the cast were very talented true professionals who made the show so entertaining. I am certain that everyone, children, parents and grandparents alike all enjoyed the show tremendously, I know we did - Oh yes we did (well it is the panto isn't it). What a fantastic afternoons' entertainment we had at The Queens Theatre. I can thoroughly recommend this lovely traditional theatre to anyone wanting first class entertainment in a comfortable and friendly environment. We are now looking forward to our next visit to the Queens in April for 'We'll Meet Again' which I just know will be absolutely brilliant.Stewart & Hilary Essex
Dear Tracy,Thank you for your comments. Would you mind emailing them to us with more details about the date and time of the performance you saw to info@queens-theatre.co.ukMany thanks,Sarah Soliman
We came to see Sleeping Beauty, 3 adults and a 5 year old. Had a fantastic time. The pantomime was brilliant, great entertainment for children and adults the whole way through. We have heard that council funding will not keep this theatre going. It will be a huge shame if this were to happen! The place was packed out. I highly recommend a visit here!
This is a great local theatre, it has a small sandwhich sweets bar with minimal selection so i would recommend bringing sweets, but apart from that it is great, all seats have a good view, got a bar, all the requirements needed.
