For the bargain price of one pound twenty return you really cannot go wrong.Only a few places in this country to experience this form of transport, and you will struggle to beat the view.Yes it's not a long journey but it's a must for any visitor to this charming part of the country.Don't miss the streets on the hill tho, they are worth the walk.

This almost unique experience of a Victorian Cliff Railway is a 'must' for any visitor. The views from the cliff top before boarding, the cheap fare, and the riverside walk and views, make this an attraction which does not take long in itself, but opens access to two different scenes is very worthwhile. Look at the old photos to see the incredible engineering feat which made this possible. A a courier for Coach Tours, I always look forward to tours which call at Bridgnorth.

Been here many times. Great just to ride down and straight back up: overlooks the magestic River Severn

a quaint way to move between low and high town.Great views of bridge, swans and up river.Over all too quick, but worth it.

An interesting way to get up to High town with marvellous views. This is particularly good for children as railway is only one of a few left in the country. Combine this with a trip on the Severn Valley Railway and you have a very interesting day out

Driven past this hundreds of times and always wondered about it. It is the ideal way to combine both the low town of Bridgenorth by the river and high town . It is an attraction in its own right and a real feat of engineering to be appreciated. Adds that little something different to your day at Bridgenorth.

A must do historical attraction in Bridgnorth. A great leg saver for the less able, only a short 30 second ride but saves an awful lot of steps and a very step incline! £1.20 under 6 free. A lovely tea room and steam train at the top.

If you want to get to low town from high town and vice versa take this cliff railway - we've lived outside Bridgnorth for many years and only occasionally use it - but its a real treat superb fun and a must do for anyone visiting brdgnorth

Only takes about a minute from bottom to top (& vice versa), but when you consider that you have to climb maybe 100 or more steps (depending which of the several sets of steps you choose between lowtown & hightown), it's well worth it. Believe me, I've had the aching legs to vouch for the effort!

Next to the tea rooms travel on a vintage vernacular railway. Return trip only £1.20. Then pop to the steam train for the a great train journey

We were fortunate to have good weather on the day we travelled to Bridgnorth. It really did feel like we had stepped back in time. It was a beautiful relaxing ride from station to station. A lovely day out if you like that sort of thing as we do. A short but steep walk to the local village market and very friendly people. Plenty to eat and drink. I would say it is something you should do at least once in your life. It's just a different they of experience which I found very relaxing.

If you are visiting Bridgnorth, definitely take a trip (albeit short!) on the funicular railway which is the steepest & shortest in the World. Yes it is maybe a 30 second ride each way, but worth it, I think the tickets were £1.20 return - I remember when it was 50p & I'm sure others remember it being a few pennies, a shilling or a chicken. You must reassure yourself that the majority of the money goes towards the expensive and necessary upkeep of this beautiful piece of history - well worth it.Take a little trip to the tearooms at the top & admire the internal workings of the mechanism that keeps it all running smoothly - the food is ok & the views are quite good too.

Great fun and lovely views - go up and down between low and high town. The grandkids loved it so have been lots of times now and then to the Severn Valley Railway... great day out.

Of course its a short ride but this quirky little railway links the upper town to the lower town so you must try it.
