You really must have a look at this place. The candlelit chapel on the way in is quite spectacular and the interior of the church is just lovely. It won't be a long visit but very much worthwhile.

This beautiful church, built mainly in romanesque style is great to visit together with the other churches in the city, such as the basilica of St. Servatius. Its built mainly in a style prior to that of the other churches you can easily see the changes in architecture.

In the southern part of the town at a nice place with a lot of restaurants and shops around you find this church. The impressive thing is the statue of the virgin mary near the entrance which is lit by hundreds of candles lit for prayers. Actually so many it gets really warm in this area. The Madonna itself is a bit overdone imo but the decoration and paintings behind are surely worth looking at.The church itself is rather dark and gloomy and has nothing much too offer with the exception of a small chaper on the north side which is pretty well decorated and lit.

На деле мрачное здание - как внутри, так и снаружи. Это, наверное, самая темная церковь из тех, в которых я побывала. Ничего запоминающегося - в качестве туристического объекта особой ценности, на мой взгляд, не имеет.

La basilique Onze Lieve Vrouw est située au centre de Maastricht, sur la jolie petite place du même nom. C'est un vaste édifice de style roman,à l'extérieur comme à l'intérieur. Les petites fenêtres laissent passer un minimum de lumière, ce qui assombrit le bâtiment. De belles fresques très anciennes et de beau chapiteaux. L'endroit de la basilique le plus visité est la chapelle de Notre Dame Etoile de la mer,dédiée à Marie. Elle se trouve sur le côté de l'entrée de l'église. Ceux qui le veulent brûlent une bougie et une prière. Cette chapelle est très populaire à Maastricht.

Maastricht heeft een grote rijkdom aan katholiek erfgoed. De meeste zijn groot en kosten veel tijd om te bekijken. Deze kapel is toegankelijk vanaf het plein en dompelt je direct onder in een serene sfeer. Steek een kaarsje op en bewonder het madonnabeeld. Like a prayer....

Linda arquitetura, fica próxima a vários restaurantes ótimos, seguindo a Wolfstraat chegamos ao centro comercial da cidade que conta com diversas lojas.

un sitio con mucho encanto y de mucha devoción a la Virgen en Maastriccht. la gente acude a poner velas y rezar. incluso de noche se puede ver desde la plaza (a través de la verja que cierran por la noche) la imagen de la Virgen rodeada de velas.

ein sinnlicher Ort, sehr schön, es wird unsere liebe Frau genannt, es ist immer voll. Davor sind viele tolle Restaurants.
