Family, friends, coworkers, doesn't matter. This place has waterpark fun for everyone. In the hot summer days of Atlanta this is an ideal place to take a dip in the water and enjoy real excitement. Will definitely be back, had a great time.
We had such a great time here. My kids loved it! It's absolutely beautiful with all the landscape. Very clean. Hated the bees though
I went there with school friends, I loved it, but the play was weak, I want to go with my family next time, but there isn't much for family stuff, but I loved it anyways.
Christmas lights were great, park good use some general maintenance (fresh coat of paint, repaving walkways, etc)
My only complaint is the link lines for some if the grownup rides. But the children had a blast all summer and it was worth buying season passes. The new holiday lights and entertainment it wonderful.
Unfortunately the luster of Six Flags over Georgia has worn off. Its in dire need of renovation or relocation. I'm thinking that the original designers of the park had no idea the area that the chose in the 60's would end up looking like Bagdad. The rides are fun but bumpy and in need of some polish. The food is pretty standard when it comes to theme parks.... bland and uninspired and made without care by a seasonal employee with no pride in thier work. The best thing about SFOG is....... ok there is no best thing.... the worst thing is $20.00 parking. Imagine if any other store or business charged you to just make it to thier front door to shop.... wouldn't work out that great.
This park is great but parents think it is a baby sitter for their kids. I have to admit I have not been in several years due to all the teenagers running around with no supervision. They would break in lines a lot. I have heard it has changed and hopefully so.... until I can verify I will not be going again.
A bit crowded, but it is a good value for the money on a hot Atlanta summer day. Almost all the rides are allowed for older children and there is a water play area with recliners to relax. Food is decent.
This water park is not that fun! Everything is over price. Compared to other water parks not worth the price or time. From 10am to 6 pm we was only able to ride 5 rides because the lines was moving so slow. We didn't even bother to eat because we was trying to get as many as possible.
I have fun everytime I go to SFWW (Six Flags White Water). It is great as it is more convenient than driving all the way to Six Flags over Georgia. I literally could walk there if I wanted to its so close to me. I have not been to white water in like 15 years, so it was fun to go randomly one day.
Recently bought the Six Flag / White Water season pass.. We visited the last day of the season this past Sunday. It had been about 5-6 years since we had visited WW.. The park had a small crowd that day so long lines were not an issue. My complaints -The Lazy River was filled with leaves, sticks, and other debris. The deck around the river needed repair.Saw lots of rotted wood, wood in need of paint.. General maintenance needed all over the park. Also we encountered a life guard the was unhelpful when my adult son lost his $200.00 Costa sunglasses on one of the slides. We could see the glasses in the water below the slide and the lifeguard would not hold other riders to allow him to get them. We were told we had to wait till closing..What? (let me say we saw 4 others loose glasses on the same slide in a 10 minute period + there were 3 pairs of sunglasses laying in a pile by the lifeguard. A gentleman lost his prescription glasses and was told the same thing..Poor customer service..
It is true, as you can see in several of the reviews, that Whitewater has seen better days and it can get extremely crowded on weekends and holidays. However, it's still a fun place to spend time with your kids. It's not the biggest or newest or nicest water park in the U.S. If you're traveling and looking for that in the South, go to Orlando or even Pigeon Forge. I say Whitewater is more for locals than tourists because with a season pass you can go more frequently and not stay as long, plus you can be strategic and choose times that will be less crowded (week days and days when it rains early in the day but then clears up). Like any theme park you can enjoy it more if you DON'T stay the entire day--leave when everyone is still happy not when they're exhausted. Go early; leave early. Seriously, 10-5 is plenty of time to be in the water. While the park isn't in as pristine shape as it was in its glory days, they did add a new ride recently. Unfortunately, it was closed more than half of the times that we visited. But we did ride it and it was good. In general, I think most of the rides are in good shape. My gripe is that they artificially keep the lines long by reducing the number of tubes and queues. Even when it's not crowded, they're going to close two of the three lines to create a line, but it won't be as long and annoying as when the park is full. You can entertain really little kids here as well as the big kids and adults, but you won't be doing all of that together. It's a pretty easy place to split up and let your older kids roam around while you spend time with the little ones in the water playground created for them. Your feet will take a beating on the pavement. You can wear flip flops or water shoes, but they won't let you wear them on most of the rides. You can just leave them at the bottom. We've never had a problem with people stealing our shoes. The wave pool is pretty strong and floats are hard to come by and it gets really crowded, but again that's the only waves we have in Atlanta. When my kids were little, they preferred the lazy river over the wave pool. They still spend a lot of time in the lazy river and are totally happy doing that. If the park is super crowded, you have three options: (1) spend most of your time in the lazy river and wave pool and enjoy that experience, (2) get a FlashPass so you can be sure to get the most number of rides done possible in the time that you have, or (3) suck it up and enjoy spending time with your friends and family in line. It's all about having fun, so your kids will have fun if you play games with them in line instead of griping about the lines. If you have back issues, you should be careful about what rides you do. You might want to avoid the rides that don't use floats or mats like The Cliffhanger and the Dragon's Tail. The food is nothing special, but you can get a salad at the chicken place near the wave pool. If you're coming here from out of town and it's a weekend or you happen to hit an especially busy day, get the FlashPass. It's expensive (I think around $35), but it will ensure that you get the most out of your visit. I would not recommend driving a long distance to come to Whitewater for a holiday weekend like Labor Day or July 4th becuase you're guaranteed it will be crowded.Last Tip: If you ask for a cup of water that will be free anywhere in the park (rather than buying bottled water all day). Keep the kids hydrated on the inside because it is Hotlanta.
Six Flags needs to step it up. Update this place. This place is awful to walk around, and you can't wear any type of shoes on the rides. That's right, even "water shoes". I get that. But you can't keep chancing leaving your shoes at the beginning of a ride when in some cases you don't come back to the same spot. It's concrete in most of the places except the "kiddie area" which has slippery foam stuff. The concrete will blister your feet due to the heat. The foam stuff is cooler with the exception of the black foam they put on a handicap ramp. What genius thought that one up? Gee, it's an uncovered ramp. It's black. It's dry. It's hot. I got pushed onto this ramp by some unruly kids, and my feet got actual blisters on them from the few seconds I was on this ramp. Talk about a safety hazard. What if I had been a little kid? What if it had been my kids? Thankfully we were leaving the park when this happened. We were fed up with all the rides shutting down from either lifeguards being on lunch (why don't you have enough staff?) or the lack of water pressure. Lines are ridiculous even for a theme park. The food here is worse than the regular Six Flags park. The pizza isn't even cook all the way! I won't be renewing my Six Flags season passes next year.
We brought our 5yo and 7yo to White Water for their first water park adventure and we all had a great day! The park had a great variety of water slides for all ages, fun splash pads for younger kids, and an fun (but crowded) Lazy River. For a 96 degree day, it was the perfect way to stay cool and enjoy the heat.Food was about what you would expect for a water park, but definitely more options than I expected. Some areas needed some upgrading, but it didn't distract from the enjoyment of the day. The park was clean and most areas seemed new.We figured we would stay 2-3 before our girls were tired and cranky. We stayed almost 6 hours and only left because everything closed due to a storm.
We went for vacation with family. The park was so clean and the rides were super fun! We rode all the rollercosters.... several times!
