This museum-inside-a-mansion is a Quincy treasure. The Victorian architecture is beautiful and it has been scrupulously maintained. Our docent, Bonnie Rupp, was both knowledgeable and humorous as she walked us through the rooms at our own pace, sharing the stories of previous owners and their family traditions and habits. Upstairs, the museum features native American artifacts and natural history exhibits. It would take two or more visits to do justice to seeing and appreciating all it has to offer. The museum is open during December in all its holiday season splendor, but don't wait, because soon after Christmas, it closes for several months until it reopens in the spring.

Natural History and a true original Victorian home in the Historic District. Cost of a true is a bargain with knowledgable tour guides. The first floor is totally original with many pieces from the original owners. The Newcombe/Stillwell families were first owners. Natural history and Native American exhibits are on the upper floors

Was here for a wedding a few weeks ago. Decided to come back and tour the home. Our kids thoroughly enjoyed the Indian room and the dinosaur room. It is so nice to have such a great mix; the old home, local exhibits and a child friendly 3rd floor. A true gem for the area.

The museum is housed within a beautiful old mansion from the 19th century, and is located on Maine Street, which has many similar beautiful old homes. Lots of period pieces throughout, and knowledgeable hosts to guide you and answer questions. Quincy is a most interesting town for people interested in history, and the Quincy Museum is a great place to start. They are not familiar with just the history of the home and pieces in it, but are also very well-versed on Quincy and regional history as well.

Wonderfully housed museum - must see for anyone, locals or vistors. Opens only after April and closed during the winter.

The museum place was filled with period pieces. Our guide was excellent! She pointed out numerous details we would have missed without her information. (Like the beautiful grandfather clock that was in one of the Alfred Hitchcock films) It is very inexpensive and well worth your time to go thru the museum.

Loved that the place was filled with period pieces, guides could share lots of personal stories, and it was inexpensive to tour. It was decorated for the holidays and very lovely!
