Really nice little beach park!! Parking is only $5 and the bathrooms and changing area are clean! The sand is a bit shelly.. but that's about the only down fall. Had a fabulous time!!

Great place to bring the family for a picnic and play frisbee. Not crowded at all. Wide open and spacious. Facilities are great!

This spot feels like you're on your own island. Paddleboard and jet ski rentals. Volleyball nets and a major hotel not far if you want drinks and food. Love it here !

Wife, kids and I got here late in the day on our first day in town, but thoroughly enjoyed spending the late afternoon here. Parking is only $5 and it's at a meter which takes credit/debit carfs. The beach itself was very clean. Tons of shells! And we were able to watch dolphins swim along the beach at sunset. Very cool.

We had been to several of the public beaches in St. Pete's and Clearwater. Crowded, expensive parking, and public facilities that were filthy making it tough to change clothes. Sand Keys is less crowded, parking is only $5 for the full day and the facilities were much more clean. The beach was every bit as beautiful and well groomed, and the water seems to be more calm here. There are jet ski and paddle board rentals right on the beach. We met the nicest couple renting paddle boards there. It's so nice we almost want to keep it a secret!

Pretty, clean and quiet park on the day we visited. Beach nice, too, although it was too chilly to get in (believe it or not!).

I came to this park looking for an inexpensive alternative to Clearwater beach. The fishing here is excellent. There are several ways to fish here from Surf, jetty to pier. Each has their advantages and depending on the weather, season and tides one of them should produce some good fishing.

We went to Sand Key in early March. The weather was beautiful; 80 degrees with a great breeze. The water was cool, but the beach wasn't crowded and we had our choice of beach to occupy. There were lots do shells to be found and if you need them, cabanas, umbrellas, and chairs to rent. With six adults and five small children in our party, this was a great place to visit. Bathroom and changing facilities as well as outdoor showers were available.

This was a choice we took instead of the crowded springbreaker beaches in clearwater. Great choice real laid back not a touristy feel.. water was clear and the view of the gulf was splendid.

Prime beachfront property for a day at the beach without all the vendors, noise and horseplay. Perfect for family outings at one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Dressing rooms and showers available. Plenty of parking. Shaded picnic grounds nearby. Highly recommend.

Gorgeous, less crowed beach than Clearwater. The beach was also more natural then the Clearwater beach.

This is a beautiful place to sun and enjoy the surf, plus a lot cheaper to park - only $5. It's about a mile from the main entrance to Clearwater beach.

Sandy Key Park has great view, restrooms, parking (fee), swimming, Sun Sets, concession, boardwalk, nature trail, outdoor showers, bath houses with separate changing stalls and restrooms, playground, shelters with grills, umbrella, cabana, kayak, and bicycle rentals, and lifeguards 9:00 AM-5 PM daily March - September. Trip with my sister, no children, category not below...09/2009**great sun sets bring camera. 8 day trip Clearwater, FL, Days in, Gulf Blvd, parking free for guests...so we walked to most of the sites in Clearwater Beach, avoiding parking fees, keeping the rental at the hotel, and used it when going to Shopping Malls, Sweet Tomatoes in Largo,(for dinner every night), the Clearwater Marine Aquarium and such.

We loved this park and had a great time gathering shells on the beach. There was a nice variety of them and the water wasn't too cold to be walking in at that time.

I took a daytrip to see Clearwater Beach because of its positive reviews. Getting there in season was a hassle and the parking lots were full by 9:30AM so I gave up and headed south. Within a couple of miles, I saw a sign for Sand Key Park and turned in. Although it's not the prettiest beach of the many I've been to, it was a great break from the chaos just a couple of miles north. The parking lot on a Saturday morning was deserted leaving what appeared to be a couple of thousand of empty parking spaces ($5 a day.) The beach was pretty, the restrooms and showers were clean and plentiful and they even have a dog park, which is odd since dogs are not allowed on the beach itself.Bring your own umbrella and chairs and save $25, and bring your own food as there is none. I enjoyed the morning and was glad I stopped.
