This full service salon and day spa will provide high quality service at a fair price. From the moment I called Tim at reception to make an appointment, I felt like I was in good hands. They have a waiting area that also has small gifts, jewellery and product for sale, although you won't have much time to browse because they are quite prompt in having your service provider greet you and take you inside. On my first visit, I enjoyed a manicure/pedicure with Dessa. Not only was she personable, but her quick and flawless job lasted for well over a week before I returned to have her spoil me again. I also had a consultation with hair stylist Lisa who patiently listened and made suggestions, at my request, for a rather dramatic change to both my colour and style. After speaking with her, I returned for my "renovation" and came away very happy. It was a leap of faith on my part, but am confident in her ability and would definitely return next time I'm in the area.

I've been here a few times and love it - have had some of the best massages here! My only gripe is that it's closed on Sundays.

Recently relocated to the area from NYC, it occurs to me that as a new resident of a travel destination, TripAdvisor might be the most relevant place to post reviews for local businesses. In this case, I am inspired to write my very first...Today was my second visit to Jacqueline's Salon & Day Spa.. The first was just days before my wedding in July, when I finally acknowledged that a facial, bikini wax and pedicure were more than luxurious indulgences up against our budget, but necessary, deserved, and practical under the circumstances. I wish now that I'd gone to Jacqueline's for so much more-- a massage, hair, makeup, anything they offer...:) Of the many vendors, expenditures, moving parts related to the wedding, this was one of the few with which I was 100% satisfied. I hardly got to take it in while it was happening, all pre-wedding stressed. What struck me most at the time was the feeling that Susana Hindes, the esthetician, conjured in me, or for me. (I say conjured because today I laid on her table wondering if she practices magic). She is charming and kind. She has a great voice, a soothing manner, and whatever perfume she wears all create the impression that you're in good hands, and you are. I spent my entire life until recently in NY, where on special occasions I got to visit some of the best known salons and day spas in the city-- Georgette Klinger, Elizabeth Arden's Red Door, and more. I have had facials that were technically expert, medical, purely prescriptive experiences where whatever discomfort I experienced while it was happening was outweighed by the later results. I've had facials that were all frou-frou-- relaxing, yes, but packed no actual skincare punch. Before Susana, I had never had a facial that was at once corrective and transformative and felt so amazingly good you don't want it to end. Susana is one of those rare people whose passion for her work is so thorough and complete that for every moment under her fingertips you feel like a work of art, the beneficiary of truly inspired action. At the risk of coming off hyperbolic-- she is a genius. I walked in there before my wedding a stressball with a huge pimple in the middle of my cheek. My loving and generous wedding guests later gushed about my "glow". Now, I love my husband and was happy to be marrying him, but I know that glow came from Susana. There wasn't a day when the usual post-facial trauma made my skin a mess. My pimple virtually disappeared within 24 hours. It was like having a fairy godmother wave a wand. Incidentally, her waxing and pedicure were great too, but they all came from the same source, y'know?Today, I got see her again and confirmed the first visit was no fluke, nor was I under some wedding-induced delusion. She's the best. She loves what she does. If you're lucky, you get to BE what she does. :) I need to also mention that I had a great massage there today. Eugene was a doll, and somehow through all our talking, he totally got the job done. In my case, it was painful middle-to upper back muscles tight with stress and I-phone inflicted knots. Next time I'm relying on the fact that we've covered plenty of topics, and I'm going to surrender to enjoying it! (He really is a gifted massage therapist, though, and a nice person). Here's the bottom line for me: I look forward to exploring all their offerings as I can afford them. Jacqueline's is not cheap, but after experiencing their level of service, I will honestly assert that we're lucky to be living in a market that keeps the pricing down! Susana could work anywhere and command any price for her work. If you're like me, and visits to the day spa are not routine maintenance, but instead special occasions, like birthday and Valentine's gifts from the hubby, this place is worth every penny and every minute spent there. I also like that Tim, whom I assume is the manager, is a lovely and elegant man who is friendly, professional, and accommodating and fits right into the place.
