This small but varied market is a delightful place to go. There is an abundance of beautiful fresh produce at extremely reasonable prices. There are also local artisan foods (cheeses, apple vinegars and ciders, wine, etc.) and local ae,rtisan crafts (woodworking, ceramics, woolens, creams and salves, etc.). There are also foods to enjoy, either to eat there or take home (Indian, African, etc.). And it is just fun to people watch: "hippies", yuppies, etc. Fun outing.

Wonderful sampling of local food and artisans. I would definitely return! Nice to walk around in the fresh air and sample local cheeses and wines!

Brattleboro's Farmer's Market is a small, quaint definitely worth the visit! Tasty, locally sourced food from cuisines all over the world. The people are very friendly and happy to share their produce stories from visitors from afar! Special shout out for the Ginger Lemonade, delicious strawberries and home-made gelato! Lovely way to spend a Saturday morning, sitting under the tree by riverside listening to the local musicians! Idyllic!!

Wonderful range of locally grown vegetables and fruit, ciders, cheeses, breads, ciders, wines, soaps as well as arts and crafts. The market is moved indoors (Main St) during colder months, making the space tight. Out or in, there are wonderful hot ethnic foods for sale. Be sure to set aside plenty of time to roam around as well and chit chat.

Our family of four thought we would stroll through this market on our way to other shopping in downtown Brattleboro, but we wound up spending half the morning here. The market is located indoors under a fantastic gabled glass roof, great for light therapy in winter. There was a wide variety of fresh and very local produce. We talked to almost every vendor and they were happy to talk about their goods. We did a good amount of sampling with very informed commentary. We bought maple syrup, maple candy, pickles, handmade soap, quince jelly, cider, and several artisanal cheeses, then we had lunch of mushroom and gluten-free quiche, egg rolls and dumplings, and pastries. As is often the case with very high-quality, fresh, local products, it was not cheap, yet the value was still outstanding. We enjoyed the atmosphere very much, enough so that our cynical 13-year-old said, "Why don't we move to Vermont?" I ask myself that more and more these days.

Indoor, outdoor, rain or shine, the Farmer's Market is the social hub of this little town and a great place to people watch. ALSO great lunch foods from vendors hailing from Asia and Africa (and locally) offering unique and familiar foods for all palates. ALSO, a dizzying array of locally grown and produced fruits, vegetables, baked goods, crafts, and more.

The Brattleboro Farmers' Market is a combination of the 60s and today. You might see locals who dropped out of society years ago or physicians and attorneys picking up produce, stopping for a quick bite of lunch. There is music and entertainment to keep the who family busy while you can peruse the maple syrup, flowers, eggs, jewelry, pottery, and everything else. It's all great fun.

It's a nice variety of local vendors of vegetables, meats, dairy, grains, fruits, baked goods, maple syrup, etc. plus some food stalls serving a variety of foods for lunch or dessert. There's also chair massage, wine, ice cream, some furniture, and music. It can be great if you're shopping for something fresh and local or if you just want to spend some time with other Vermonters young and old for an hour or two. Obviously, the selection of products varies with the season. It goes from some time in April to the end of October. It's a very pleasant atmosphere and parking, although busy, always seems to be available. Remember your bug spray and sun hat.

On Saturdays from May to October this is the place to be for ready to eat food from Africa, India, and Vermont plus fresh and local vegetables, flowers, meats and baked goods. There is usually music and always a friendly, active crowd including a bustling group of younger children in the sand box. It is lively and fun--an instant neighborhood for all visitors.

This is one of the best farmers markets that I've ever been to.There's a good selection of ethnic food (don't miss Anon's Thai food)and local foods too. (try Riganis' wood fired pizza) There are plenty of plants, vegetables and crafts to purchase as well. Every week there's local musicand a fun place for the kids to play. Before you leave, get a chairmassage from Ron Minnes - ahhh...

The farmers market host a wide array of varied vendors. It' s a great place to start out in the morning with homemade donuts and coffee from Ralph as your come in .You can sip your coffee as you stroll about the market checking out the various vendors, before making your purchases,You will find fresh local vegetables, fruits and herbs... even eggs and local cheeses as well as locally grown garlic from Linda. You can pick out fresh flowers individually for your bouquet to take home. There are potters of all kinds, with pottery for both your daily use or gifts. Herb remedies, massages being given, home made soap and more. You will often find seedlings and potted perennials for sale, depending on the time of the year. You name it they have it ! The other draw is that the vendors are overall friendly and relaxed lending a nice air to the market. .Late in the morning, near lunch time.... if you stay that long there is local music adding to the festivities of lunch. Lunch is a wonderful variety of many cruisines. My favorite is Shrii's Kitchen, she had the most wonderful Indian food. Anon's Thai food is very good too.One of the things I like the most is that each week to some small degree vendors and their wares may change, There are the ones you see every week, but now and then a new one pops up just often enough to add a smidgen of change.I like to go early in the morning best without the crowds, however lunch time is a treat too. I admittedly try to avoid it during busy tourist weekends ....when it is a little more difficult to more around freely. The farmers market is definately worth a visit.

Brattleboro Farmer's Market opens on May 4th. It is not only a wonderful place to buy local fresh produce but the best place to get some great ethnic cuisine for lunch. There is excellent Thai, Vietnamese, African and Greek dishes to name a few. One of my favoritebooths is Newfane Creamery which makes their own delicious gelato as well as fresh ginger lemonade. I also always stop by early to pick up some French sesame bread made by Orchard Hill Bakery and often hang around to see who has arrived for musical entertainment. I live locally and enjoy shopping and meeting friends but if your just passing through it is well worth the stop.

Don't miss it. It has everything. Live music. Local foods. Ethnic specialities. Massage. Pottery. People. Vibe. Goodness all around.

We enjoyed this market very much. A variety of artisans displaying their work and we found several unique items that we purchased. Vendors were very friendly and shared information about their businesses and about the area. Several had homemade food for sale from hot dishes to sweets. Samples of some items were provided. The downside was getting a parking ticket while we were visiting the market. Unfortunately for us we were unaware that they do not have free downtown parking on Saturdays as is the case in Halifax, NS. It seemed a cash grab from tourists with foreign license plates and soured our opinion somewhat.
