Wonderful place to hear one of the world's greatest orchestras! Whether you picnic on the lawn or sit in the amphitheater, it wouldn't be summer without a few trips to Blossom!
I have been going to Blossom Music Center since I was a child. It is still a beautiful place to spend a summer evening listening to great music!
Blossom Music Center is the perfect place to spend a summer evening. Pick your favorite style of music. One evening it can be a symphony. On another - brass band or rock band. Take a blanket, a picnic with a bottle of wine, and dine on the lawn while you relax. I have been to Blossom several times over the years, and have never been disappointed. My family especially enjoyed the fireworks after the 4th of July band concert.
Great place to see a concert big lawn area to set up your blanket or chairs and enjoy the evening or show. There are seats in the pavilion also. Those seats come in real handy if you buy them and it starts raining. Not to fun sitting in the rain for a concert been there done that. All in all blossom is a very nice place.
I've been coming here for years, and my summer is never complete, until I have been to Blossom at least once. Listening to the Cleveland orchestra on the lawn with a glass of wine and cheese on a nice summer evening - it doesn't get better than this.Other concerts are a total different experience, but loads of fun. The energy is amazing. My only complaint is the traffic getting out - they need a few more exits. I DREAD the traffic. It is a total nightmare.Bathroom facilities are not bad, and typically clean.
Saw a terrific Rascal Flatts + Sheryl Crowe concert. Problem is the traffic. You must count on at least 1.5 hour traffic jam. Also, it is a long distance to the amphitheater downhill and worse going back up! Sound system is great. lawn seats can be quite a distance away.
The concert atmosphere here has changed alot over the years at this staple for Summer Concert attractions. What hasn't changed is enjoying your artist on the lawn or under the pavilion. The lawn is "managed" more now and you can rent a beach chair too. The introduction of local Food Trucks to the limited dining is a great idea, 4 more would be better. No food or beverage sold inside is cheap, so plan accordingly. But do plan to visit once this summer for a concert or the orchestra.
Most of bands I like to see come to Blossom, not to downtown Cleveland anymore. It's ok but if you're a huge music fan like myself I would suggest always buying tickets under the pavilion. Seems like 9 out 10 times it rains and that is NO FUN in the "lawn" seats, besides the sound is so much better. Come early to fight crowds and get better parking. I paid $20 to park in lot C and was off the grounds in under 15 minutes with attendance of 12,000.
to sit out under the stars with some good wine and picnic basket on the slopping grass is a relaxing way to listen to the classical music of the Cleveland Symphony in the warn nights of Summer.
The most crowed I've ever seen it, but the experience was lovely, as usual. A beautiful weather evening with a wonderful man, the Cleveland Orchestra, wine, cheese and grapes - priceless.
We attended the orchestra on Disney night and it was so packed. Parking is really really far away! The venue was nice but too crowded on the lawn. Bathrooms were clean and landscaping pretty. The lawn area is very steep, my crawling baby kept rolling down the hill when he was moving around. We arrived at 5:30 (show started at 7) and the venue wad already full! Guess we should have arrived when they opened at 4:30. With 85 degree temps outside it was kind of miserable.
We have only attended Blossom for the Cleveland Symphony, and each time has been great. We pack a picnic dinner and get there at %;15 so we can be the first to enetr the gates to get a prime covered picnic table. They have several places inside to eat, but we have never tried any. The symphony is always wonderful. We pay about $45/ticket to sit under the beautiful ampitheater. They have a large lawn seating area with failry inexpensive seating.
Read many reviews (which were horrendous!), so I did my homework. Unfortunately, the phone lines at Blossom won't allow you to talk to a real person and after finally reaching the info line for the Luke Bryan concert, it was a Cleveland Orchestra hotline! I somehow, accidently, reached a live person who told me the back gate WOULD be open. I took a trial drive over since I am not familiar with the area. The security officer said the back gate would NOT be open prior to the concert. I tried calling again but could not reach a live person. They did fix the phone info line however. We arrived when gates opened at 4 and had no traffic at all. Crowds were beginning to stream in from all directions though. We entered from the front gate, however back gate WAS open. They were both blocked off until exactly 4 pm. We parked (grassy, muddy lot), walked about 20 minutes to scan our tickets and enter the grounds at 4:30. The pavilion and lawn areas were closed off until 5:30. We were happy to be inside instead of taking chance on traffic. What a shame it would have been to miss the opening act of Cole Swindell!! A friend arrived at 4:45 with no traffic as well. We were coming from Rt 303 to Akron Peninsula Rd to Steels Corners. Had no problems with bathrooms but we last used them after the second opening act (Lee Brice). Our only negatives were the number of people totally wasted and smoking even in the pavilion. The grounds were beautiful beforehand but littered with cigarette butts and beer cans/cups afterward. We pulled out of our parking spot and sat, not moving, for an hour and 10 minutes. Once traffic started moving, no problems driving out onto the roads. I was forced to go out the back gate and turn left on Northampton which, fortunately, is where I wanted to be. I would go anywhere to see Luke Bryan and Cole Swindell who were both phenomenal. Overall, be totally prepared, allow lots of time, and have LOTS of patience getting out!
Always fun to head down and watch a concert at this unique outdoor venue. Lawn seating is first come, first serve so arrive early to stake your claim!
Blossom and the Cleveland Orchestra have been perfectly paired for nearly fifty years. The August 17th concert was further validation of this belief. Jahja Ling conducted a wonderful concert to an appreciative crowd that knew him from his many years of association with both the orchestra and Blossom. The Dvorak Symphony 6 is a wonderful piece of music and could not have been better conducted or played. The Elgar Cello Concerto with Yo-Yo Ma as soloist is a tour de force and the soloist and orchestra played in perfect harmony. Mr. Ma sat with the cello section for the Dvorak. What a night! Parking was tough for general admission. Subscribers can get reserved lots closer in.
