This is an excellent place to go to be in nature: it is fairly large and has some remote places. There are places to picnic; playgrounds, bodies of water. It is most excellent for riding bicycles; might be a tad warm in summertime.

Redbud Valley is more challenging, but Oxley Nature Center is a delight for all skills and abilities. They offer several distinct habitats, native vegetation, delightful volunteers and naturalists, and a building overflowing with experiences for children (treehouse, aquarium, murals, bee hives, etc.) This is one membership we renew annually!

Oxley volunteers split my class of 40 students into small groups of 4-5 and gave the students an amazing experience. As they walked in the silent woods, students discovered how to examine nature closely. The volunteers were extremely knowledgeable and kind to the kids. My students raved about the experience for weeks afterwards.

Oxley Nature Center is great to visit especially if you do not want to spend the money on the zoo. Be sure to skip the center how to get to the wetlands and larger lake. It is worth the walk.

The Nature Center has very well maintained trails that are easy to navigate and the preserve is so diversified! You will find swamps filled with lily pads and cattails, a beautiful lake full of ducks, dragonflies all over the place and even some very scary spiders. But if you find beauty in bugs as I do, this is the place to go!

The nature center has been in operation for quite a few years and has maintained a good consistant operation with lots of information and training. The museum part, exhibits and such has not grown much but the staff and facility are still good. I was very familiar with the area long before the nature center and they have left much of it just as it has always been. the occasional guided day or Night hikes are especially interesting as plenty of critters live there.

This Nature Center is one of the best we have ever visited. The people who work at the center are friendly and knowledgeable and care about talking to you, especially the children. We took our 6 year old granddaughter there and she was thrilled. The building is clean and the restrooms are also very clean. There are a lot of trails and they are rather easy to navigate. We had a stroller for the 6 month old and had not problems at all. If you are not interested in nature, this is definitely NOT the place for you to visit. But if you enjoy the peace and quite of nature and seeing unusual bugs and things like that, you will enjoy this Park. We spent about 3 hours there and still didn't walk all of the trails. If you want more information their web site is: oxleynaturecenter.org. There is no cost to enter Mohawk Park or the Center during the week.

We have a membership, though it isn't required, but I know it helps support them. We have gone on butterfly walks, nature walks (with and without a guide), bird watching walks. There is much to offer to enjoy on your own or with a group. Lots of trails. We like to see what bugs or plants we can find. The kids also like to look for animal tracks.

Although a little hard to find in Mohawk Park, the nature center and grounds are truly inspiring and beautiful. The center itself is small but contains a nice assortment of exhibits on the flora and fauna of the area. The best part are the extensive walking trails that let you wander through wooded areas, glades, fields and see nature up close (we saw deer, many kinds of birds, Herons and other creatures). Trails are very well marked and the map available at the center is a must. A nice gift-shop is located in the center and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

We visited here for a couple of hours only as we had a plane to catch (its close to the airport). Wish we had had more time to spend, it was great. The visitor centre looked fascinating but had no time to look at it much. There are a large number of trails that can be followed including a boardwalk through the marsh. We saw deer, racoons, frogs, herons, plenty of watersnakes, fanstastic range of butterflies and dragonflies, and heard other frogs calling. Right by the visitor centre there were a collection of red-eared sliders and large fish. Really worth a visit (although I suspect that some visitors don't see as much as we did, judging by the racket they were making!).

Excellent combination of wetlands, bottomland, wooded and grass. Attracts lots of birds. Migratory waterbirds are common on the lakes in the area during the proper season.

This was a spontaneous stop for me, so wasn't wearing shoes appropriate for hiking (sandals). The visitor info center had some nice exhibits and maps of all of the trails. I walked a short one around one of the ponds and it was beautiful to be away from all of the daily noise. The docent at the desk warned that there are lots of ticks around, so take precautions. Planning to go back to really explore.

Walking trails, exhibits, and the peace and quiet. A great placeto take the kids and explore nature.

I love this place and it has often been my favorite place in Tulsa. It is great most of the year round. Maybe not so much in a hot summer. Enjoy a very peaceful walk down many trails. You can get a map from the center and hours are posted. I believe is is like from 8am to 5pm. You can get lost easily if new so make sure to follow a map. The ponds are cool and most the time I see deer or other wildlife.

The Oxley Nature Center is one of our favorite outdoor places in NE OK. The trails are easy to walk and there is so much to see. In addition to the beautiful trees and plants, we see many different types of wildlife on every trip. The visitor's center has some great, hands on exhibits and there is always a knowledgeable staff person available to answer any questions. They are great with children, too. We have not attended any of the special programs they offer, but they look fantastic. One of these days we want to do one of the full moon guided walks. Oxley Nature Center is definitely worth a visit.
