Excellent golf course. Was private, but is now semi-private. It is in great shape and a good challenge. They had financial problems during the recession.

i have been coming here for years. I have seen this course evolve since new owners took over. Greens are normally solid and now fairways are decent as the thatching a few years ago and overseeding has made this a great track and all the course you want depending on tees you play. 18 is a great finishing hole, especially from the black tees you can't even see. 230 yards all over water if you want to hit green.

Well maintained and managed. Everybody very friendly, good for all levels of golfers. Bring the camera.

Played here with a group from our home club. The course is very scenic and in good shape with the exception of the greens. They may have been having some disease issues but they rolled true. Especially for people playing it for the first time, it is extremely challenging with alot of blind shots, false fronts, and lay up shots that you don't see, all making it a uniquely challenging experience, and fun. The bar area is very nicely appointed, and the buildings give a very spa-ish spanish style feel. Definitely worth playing again.

Course is about 45 min from downtown, but easy to get to. Has very country club feel to it and was in great shape. Bunkers were soft and greens rolled awesome. I'm a scratch golfer, from the championship tees the course plays to about 7000 yds. But there are 5 sets of tee boxes to suit whatever level you want. Awesome elevation changes, and a great mix of layout. You better be straight here, there are a lot of slopes away from the fairway. I booked on golf now for 50 bucks. Feels like a better kept resort course in mesquite nevada. IF YOU COME TO SAN DIEGO YOU GOTTA PLAY HERE

We found this course to be well kept and beautiful. Those were just the perks, thinking that you are going to play this course easily is a mistake, it is challenging to say the least. We loved it and would play there again.

The building is very beautiful and the view is very nice. They serve food and drinks. Hours are somewhat limited so check to make sure it's open before you go. They also hold weddings here. Nice place. Nice views of the course.

Booked this course through Golf Now and it was certainly worth the price. Course is in great shape and the layout is interesting in that it seems no two holes are alike. Being a par 73 and having a lot of OB makes it a tough track and I would not recommend this for 25+ handicap golfers. I also liked that, while the course is built around homes, they don't infringe on the course and have you afraid to hit the ball...and then a person.Greens are in good shape but a little slow. That's not a bad thing however when you looking to keep a reasonable score.

We played with friends who are members here so they could advise us where to hit the ball and that was a huge plus. The course is challenging but fair (I am an 18 index and shot 94) but if you spray the ball (particularly if you slice for a right-hander) you could have some problems. OB is very unforgiving here and you are not likely to reclaim your ball: first, because a lot of the OB areas are ecologically sensitive and you are not allowed to enter them and second, the bushes etc are quite dense. Houses are not in play at all on this course. Greens were quick and quite undulating. There are some spectacular views from several holes and some of the par 3s are 'interesting' particularly the one with the sand trap in the middle. The par 3 at 18 is a beautiful golf hole. We are told that the food is excellent; the course has a catering 'arm' which also provides food for the clubhouse. Two things to be aware of: it is often 15-20 degrees warmer here than it is at the coast; the day we golfed it was 67F in San Diego and 84F at the course. Second, there is no potable water so bring lots or be prepared to buy from the cart girl. We would play here again

We were pleasantly surprised with the condition of this course. We had a great day, the course was challenging and scenic. Quite enjoyed the hole with the sandtrap in the middle of the green (did I say Enjoy:?? - NOT, landed on the wrong side of the trap!!) Oh well, the view just prior to hitting was very spectacular. Will go back again!!

This course is beautiful, but challenging. Bring extra balls. I have played here twice and lost two balls on hole two both times. 16 handicap - shot 99. Food in the club (burger) was good. There is a cart girl and they serve cocktails. Facilities are well maintained and the course pace was good. We got a discount by buying online in advance. The coupon said play all day (Friday), but when we went for the second round, we were told it was a 2+ hour wait. All said I will return as this is a fun course.

I must begin by saying that I have mixed feeling about this course. Firstly, on the plus side, I was able to get out as a walk-on. On the minus side, however, tho I was out with "members," the woman player was a beginner. Much to his credit, the husband explained to me, & the person working the pro shop, that his wife was just starting to play. I took a deep breath & looked on the bright side. The pro shop employee simply ignored the member's remark & certainly did not ask me what my handicap is, or if playing w/ a beginner was OK or not.Well, let me tell you, it was an experience beyond belief. I've played with beginners before, but this was one for the books. If she shot 200, I'd be surprised. This is a person who should not have been on "any" golf course. The game of golf--on any course--was simply way beyond her abilities. I felt so sorry for her, but try she did....It turned out to be a five hour round w/out the course being crowded. Now, that being said, the course itself was just OK--I think the cost was $65. But the fairways had been recently punched & not swept; therefore, muddy plugs were everywhere, including the approaches/fronts to the greens. This being my first time playing this course, I was pleased that the pro shop gave me a yardage book, because my playing partners were of little help w/ any insightful course information. Altho members, they did not know what type of seed was used on the greens--it appeared to be blended & was rather short, quick & rough.Fairways are generous, some slopped to the right & left; greens small, contoured & somewhat quick; bunkers nicely done, sandy. Having played many courses thoughout the decades, this course was unfortunately a big disapointment. I write this because, as a Semi-Private golf course, one would have expected more. The manner in which the pro shop person--if he was the pro or not--handled our situation was so incorrect, & completely indifferant to all of our concerns, as well as the program of golf, that it can only be called cashing in at any cost. In short, I'd quickly suggest trying a few of the other courses in the Fallbrook area before playing here. Looking forward to seeing you there....
