i guess if you like big yellow objects it is pretty cool, i guess over 30 years i have gotten use to it, and have to gain a new appreciation for it.

I've driven by the "World's largest lemon" a number of times and always thought it was a little tacky but certainly a landmark for the city. I never realized that it was the world's largest lemon though! But when I think of Lemon Grove I always picture this huge lemon in my mine. So I guess the branding works! If you are heading east on I-94 and you have little to do, take an off ramp at Lemon Grove; there are several. Then head east on "main" street until you find it. There it is, a large, fiberglass yellow lemon, gracing the eastern entrance to Lemon Grove. And there you have it!

That's what I want to know! Besides, it isn't a lemon, just a cheesy, and not really big, concrete statue of one. At least the "worlds largest thermometer" actually shows the temperature.

When I was young, the Lemon sat the other way and it looked different now it sets so every one sees it's a Lemon. My aunt took pictures of me standing in front of it at age 10. We also would get our pies from the Lemon Grove(Grove) Bakery. The lemon is a symbol of the area when it was lemon orchards and horses and dairy area. If you want to eat there is two places I truly like.Lido's for Italian, which is always so busy I go back to Anna's. Good home cooking and have known them for many many years. When teaching genealogy at the old library we got into the habit of dinner after meeting. Now we take others with us and we do dinner generally before meeting at the new library. Which has minimal parking. What a shame to have such a nice big library and so few places to park or people to meet.Anna's Liver and Onion's is excellent, the ribs are super, in 20 + years I have not had a bad meal in this store. It is down home not fancy but friendly and food is good. I can even tell you the history of this restaurant. I miss some of the down town stores it used to have. So go take a picture of the Lemon and have a good meal whether it breakfast, lunch or dinner.at Anna's or Lido's.

I'm sorry I wouldn't recommend visiting this city. Not much to do. Very hot. I've lived there and I don't miss it.

Who doesn't love their picture taken with a giant lemon? If you visit Lemon Grove (where there are no longer any actual lemon groves) you have to visit the lemon.

I grew up in East San Diego in the 1950s and the Lemon has been anchoring the little town for as long as I can remember. We used to go square dancing just down the street when I was a kid. And whenever I see the Lemon, it puts me in another time and place and a smile on my face.

The city of Lemon Grove is a bit boring as is the BIG LEMON. It is just a big lemon by the trolley tracks. It's a city for people that live in to use. It is convienent for them, but I would go out of my way to see it again. I've seen it for lots of years.

But hard to take a picture if your driving because its on a main road! But is sure is big!! [made me want lemonade] lol

Yup they really do have a giant lemon in Lemon Grove located next to the train/trolley tracks in downtown.
