We decided to stay overnight in a king jacuzzi room. The gal gave us a good rate over the phone and informed us that they do place a $250 hold on the card while you are there. When we arrived a few days later the gal at the front desk tried to charge me $60 more than what I wad quoted on the phone but quickly adjusted it. I must say the mineral spring hot tub was wonderful. We stayed in room H 208 facing the river but couldn't see it but it was great to hear. The room was very very basic but clean. The TV was old, the bed was ok and we had no telephone or internet in the room and no cell service . It is nice not to have the distractions but I couldn't even call the front desk to see what time check out was as it wasn't posted anywhere the room. We only had two towels total which wasn't enough for showering and hot tub but we used the thin robe provided. If you go I would suggest asking for a few extra towels.

Carson hot springs was the most relaxing experience I have ever had!! A 20 minute soak in a mineral bath to calm your body and a hot wrap to sweat out all the impurities in you skin. I had a 50 minute message which wasn't long enough. I will do it again and again!! We only stayed for the day.

Carson Hot Springs is a place to go when you want to unwind. The hotel rooms were updated a few years ago. They are basic, but clean and comfortable. The spa is the real draw here, though. The old St. Martin Hotel houses the bath house and massage rooms. There is a men's side and a women's side. Mineral water baths are taken in old fashioned claw foot tubs that are big enough to stretch out in. If you choose a wrap, you are tucked in by the friendly bath house attendant. The idea is to sweat out the impurities and after the bath to warm you up the wrap finishes the job. If you choose a massage, you will be well taken care of. We would highly recommend Rachel. She did an awesome job of working out the kinks. The staff is friendly, helpful and accommodating. I had not been in about 10 years and I'm glad that I returned. Oh, we also had breakfast at the Elk Creek Golf Course just at the top of the hill. A ton of well prepared, un-fancy food for a surprisingly low price.

I live near this funky old place, and have been going there for a soak, wrap and massage several times a year for many, many years. I loved the "realness" of the place, the old tubs and as much hot mineral water as you want to use. I went recently, and while I was happy to get an appointment on the spur of the moment, I won't be going any more. First, shame on me, I didn't ask the price. It has gone way, way up. $90 midweek, plus tips pushes it to $100.00 when it used to be $60, then $75. But $90 is getting on up there with other spas in the area, which are more modern and clean.Funky is one thing, but clean is another. And it is not clean. Hair in the shower, cloth seats in the dressing room (and who sat in them naked before you?).If you are coming off a few nights in the woods without a shower, this might seem like a wonderland. But if you want a little pampering and cleanliness, this is not the place.

Stopped by the Carson Mineral Hot Springs on the way back to Portland from a hike. Cost was only $20 for a soak, wrap and sauna. This is not a modern day spa, but nor is it priced as one. I personally enjoyed the historic nature of the bath house, but it may not be for everyone. The bath house consists of about 8 - 10 claw foot tubs, separated by shower curtains, so completely private, a room with cots for the wrap, a couple showers and dressing room with the sauna. The attendant was great and so were the other guests, important in such close quarters.

My mom and I came here on a recent girl's trip to Oregon. What a great find! This place is a real throwback - I love the clawfoot soaking tubs. The hot mineral bath and wrap are so relaxing and such an awesome value. The staff is friendly and very professional. We can't wait to go back!

Carson Mineral Hot Springs is a Great place to relax and enjoy a natural mineral bath. It is by far the best value around. The place is rustic but very clean. the service is very good, however if you are expecting a high end spa environment then this is not the place for you. If you want a relaxing mineral bath at a very good price in a rustic setting then you will really enjoy this place. My wife and I have been there several times and have always had a Great relaxing experience.

I loved loved my one night stay at Carson Mineral Hot Spring. It was my gift to my friend of 18 years for her birthday. We chose to drive hwy 14 instead of busy 84. That was a wise choice, the road has beautiful scenery and good fresh air. The hotel was clean and quiet. The soak in the hot spring water was refreshing and relaxing, we bth enjoy it. Your skin will love you for it. The only thing I wish the owner can do is at least change the blackened faucets and the shower stands, too old and seems dirty. I will go there again regardless.

The $20 hot mineral water soak and wrap were worth the jaunt. We will be revisiting this place. We came out with a serious drug free mellow.

OK really - it is old and funky but very clean and well run. I love the experience. A HOT mineral bath - just as hot as you want it. Then a wrap in clean sheets and wool blankets - to sweat the rest out. Or go in the sauna.I hope they never change it....Did I really say that? Yes, I did. I hope NOBODY ever changes it. I cannot believe someone said it was disgusting. The tubs have "signs of wear" from the minerals but it is very clean. I LOVE IT!

and I like it!I've been a few times over the past 10 years. I go for one thing, to close my eyes, clear my mind & rejuventate my spirit. It's a perfect blend of disgusting & fantastic rolled into one. Today, I arrived at 9am... first come first serve mineral baths & body wraps ($20) - not another soul in sight. The attendants were very friendly. You soak in an old claw tub, & then lay in a room filled with cots cocooned in cheese cloth & a heavy blanket. I love this place! I have never eaten there, golfed or stayed the night... so that is all i've got, enjoy!

The place may be old, but it was very clean. The attendant was very sweet.

I have known about Carson for over 20 years and I am afraid to say that I have not been. I have been missing out on a great experience. The soak is in huge tubs, followed up with a tight body wrap. I recommend a massage after that. It feels so good. The bath house is not coed. But who cares, it's about yourself. It is not plush, it is organic and the people are the best. The price is even better. Go enjoy and then have something to eat nearby. It is only 45 minutes from Portland. The drive is wonderful.

While Carson Mineral Springs is a juxtaposition of old and new and has not fully settled into its next incarnation, it is still a great place to visit.Driving into the property, one can imagine visitors long ago looking at a similar landscape. But a little father in we came upon uncompleted buildings that were about to be finished under new ownership. Finally saw an old, clearly original wooden hotel with wooden sidewalks and an attached bath house. We entered the wood heated large lobby, furnished with oak rockers, and paid $25 apiece for a visit to the bath house. My husband and I separated and went to our respective sides.Once in the ladies bathhouse I was given a wrap and shown to the dressing room. When I entered the bathhouse, I was shown to a tub that was filling with the naturally hot waters, told I would soak for 20 minutes or so, then be wrapped in the other room to cool down. The waters were so hot I had to add cooler water, but it felt marvelous and it did not take long to feel my heart rate accelerate. The bathhouse was quiet, the wrap in thick cotton was delicious and when I joined my husband again afterwards, we both agreed we would visit again. The rickety wooden bath house is over 100 years old, and the claw foot tubs with sheet like curtains affording bathers some privacy appear to be originals too. This is a nice addition and contrast for anyone visiting Bonneville Hot Springs a few miles away.
