project v distillery & sausage

A group of friends decided to visit the Project V Distillery. Although we arrived before the place opened, we were in luck as the owner was beginning to work on her brew. She stopped what she was doing and opened up early for us. She gave us an incredible tour and tasting answering our questions and allowing us to go in the back and see how the vodka is made. My absolute favorite was the gin which was so incredibly good that putting it with tonic (the way I usually have it) was totally unnecessary. Mixing it with anything would be a crime. The leftover mash after the process is finished is fed to the hogs on the family farm and sausage is made. Unfortunately we were two days short of the final product so we hope to try the sausage on our next visit. With all of the distilleries and wineries in town, this one stands out as a superior product.
