We recently visited Si Works and it was absolutely one of the Best Museums we have ever attended. Very kid friendly. Several amazing hands on demonstrations about science. The museum is very large as well. One could spend a full day and not experience all it has to offer. Our favorite feature was the building block - Keva Plank area. We did not go to the planetarium, but I am sure it was just as good. They have very good discounts. I am in the military and our entire group received free admission. Highly recommend this attraction

I am local to Sciworks and I must regretfully admit that I have never been before, but instead have ventured out to other cities for entertainment for the kids. Sciworks, although small, is packed with great activities for the kiddos. Currently, the traveling exhibit is the water cycle maze. You are a water droplet and you spin wheels that are placed periodically through the maze and follow the arrows to try and get out of the maze "clean". inside the maze there is even a "zipline" for the kids. My 12 year old and I went through the maze together and although he was too tall for the zipline, we had fun.Soundworks is a room with a bunch of items that make sounds, both acoustically and electronically. They have a working piano on the floor which was a great hit for all the kids and adults in the room. It was hard to get my 2 year old out of there, he was having so much fun! There are many other things great about Sciworks, i can't list all the activities, it would take too much time for me to write. We stayed about three hours and didn't even get to see the shows at the planetarium, which I have heard are great , I promised the kids we would be back. Also, Sciworks is stroller friendly, all parts of sciworks are accessible by ramps, and bathrooms have changing tables. We didn't eat at Sciworks, so I can't comment on food or food prices.Plan on making this at least a half day trip if you want to see everything and watch a planetarium show.Cons:The outside trail of Sciworks is not the best, it is simply a park with some farm animals and a couple deer, the kids seemed to enjoy it though. I assume in the spring/fall it would be better because of the trees. Greensboro Science Center's outside trail is 100 times better, mostly because it is more like a zoo. If you are in Winston Salem, it is a good place to go for the kids, but if you are just passing through and will be in Greensboro, for the price, Greensboro Science Center is a better value, since both places cost about the same. That being said, overall this place is great and I am contemplating on getting a membership since we live so close to it.

Wasn't impressed at being sold a full price ticket a 3 pm and then being told to vacate at 4 pm for closing. Its great fun but a complete waste of money

It is a great place to take your kids. Very educational! It gives children the science and math side of life.

I took my 2 nieces ages 10 and 7 and we had a blast. The learning experiences there are more than enough to help young children learn and understand our solar system as well as stars that are in the night sky. The planetarium is so entertaining and the instructors are well educated and made our visit an enjoyable and entertaining experience.

Highly recommend, Si works is a fantastic place to visit and revisit with friends. We loved all of the interactive exhibits. Please set up hand sanitizer stations frequently throughout.

My daughter loved this place and is asking to go back. A lot of interesting information and learning something new! Good parking lot. Nice building. Nice walking trail to see animals.

Planetarium (thought the digital images were dated and low res), outdoor gardens and mini-zoo, hands on areas for kids AND adults (especially the music area).

This was the perfect rainy family day adventure. The clean friendly staff greeted us, and gave us a warm NC welcome! There are gadgets for the kids to interact with and see, feel and touch!

We really enjoyed it here. It was a nice mix of stuff. Kepted the kids and husband busy with everything!! Loved the otters, they were putting on a cute little swimming show. The place was very clean and the staff was very helpful. Its a little expensive but would defiantly go back!!!

My husband and I took our son,daughter-in-law and 3 grandsons (9 year old and 5 year old twins) to SciWorks this past week. They came to visit from CT. We spent 3 hours of enjoyment and we all participated in the activities. We definitely recommend this to all who visit the area.

I loved the visit with grandkids. I became so involved with some of the active exhibits I nearly got left behind. Staff were good, especially with daily animal exhibitions. Outdoor animal section also very interesting. Worth the stop.

Enjoyed an outing to Sciworks with my 4 year old grandson without initially realizing it was a venue my son enjoyed decades ago :) there were areas that interested my grandson more than others...he loved being outside in the sandbox and on the tire swing but he also love many of the hands on experiences inside...and the air conditioning did feel good!! We learned about tortoises and wanted to see a show at the planetarium, but the operator had technical difficulties. All in all, we will return!

I was expecting this place to be similar to COSI in our hometown in Ohio which we visit frequently. Though it did have all of the same types of science experimental, brain learning games and such. It was so much more. They have a planetarium which was pretty cool. The have a petting zoo, a real life otter exhibit inside a shaded nature path with deer. Inside they have reptiles and animal encounters to touch and feel. Just all in all a really interesting fun place. It kept our 9 and 6 year olds entertained. Bonus is we got in free because we are members at our local Center of Science and Industry. Score!

Another hometown treasure for my family! Though there are some permanent exhibits and displays (as in, they've been there since I was a kid), there are always cool new things to see. SciWorks is very, very interactive with enough to keep the kids busy (literally) all day long. Arrive when the museum opens, pack a lunch and plan to stay til close... trust me, no matter how long you stay your kids will not get bored. There is also a barnyard area and small playground for some outdoor time.
