Had such a great time!! Our guide was so professional and fun! The horses were so well trained and sweet! It was a beautiful experience for our family! Our two girls ages 11 and 13 loved it and did great on their own! I definitely recommend this place!

Visited over the weekend and it was a lot of fun. The horses looked well taken care of and were friendly and well behaved which was good for us because we don't have a lot of horseback riding experience. The staff were friendly and helpful. The trail was very pretty especially with all the snow and it was a nice ride. Overall great experience! We are definitely going to go again!

My husband, myself and my 11 year old son and his friend visited here last weekend. The staff are very nice, friendly, accommodating and informative. Our trail guide Shawn was great with the kids and also very nice. The horses were great!!!!! We did the hour long ride through the snowy trail and it was beautiful scenery.

My husband and I were both extremely pleased with this place. The trail is lovely, even in the winter. The terrain is sufficiently varied to make it interesting, but the real attraction is the horses. It is rare to ride rental horses that seem to enjoy what they are doing, but both our horses clearly did. It is a tribute to both the care and the training these animals receive. They were exceptionally responsive, good-natured and spirited, qualities seldom encountered in this sort of facility. I am pleased to recommend this stable to anyone who likes a good ride.

We went riding yesterday at Deer Path Riding Stable. The ride was great, and the guide very pleasant. It was a beautiful day for a ride, and the horses were very well taken care of. The owner was very encouraging for my 10 year old son, who basically never trail rode before. My daughter (11) has had a year of lessons thus far, my other son (15) has not had lessons or trail ridden before, and myself (mom 37) who has been around, owned & ridden since I'm 12 were all given appropriate level horses. It was a lot of fun & we may visit again! Thanks so much!

Great for beginners. Our guide was pleasant and very patient. He took the time to tell us about our horses which he rescued from abusive owners and nursed back to health. The ride was scenic and easy going so it's great for inexperienced riders. We can't wait to go back for a winter ride in the snow.

I'm sorry about any misunderstanding regarding our reservation policies. All of our literature, brochures and web site are quite clear about check-in times. We have 16 horses in use for trail rides. You report that at the time of your visit there were no horses present. The reason the horses were not there is because ALL of them were out on the trail with other riders who did appearently understand and comply with the scheduled check-in time. Our facility was built in 1986. Perhaps it shows it's age a bit. There are a lot of pictures on this site and on our Face Book page. People can judge for themselves. Until this year we were only tenants here. We are making improvements as our budget allows. But we put the greatest emphasis on having the very best trails and quality horses. "Creepy"? Ok. You were disappointed and want to express your disappointment. But I would suggest that name calling is inappropriate and unwarrented.

We had a very enjoyable time here. After reading some of the reviews, I was a little skeptical, but decided to go. My family of four, 19 year old son and 9 year old daughter, said this was their favorite thing on our trip. Our guide, Shawn, was extremely friendly, informative and interactive. They are very safety oriented.

I've been to many horse barns and these people treat their horses right. They are very thorough with safety but they don't waste your money talking. They take you out for the duration you paid for. WE ALSO SAW A DOE WHICH WAS AWESOME!My husband had never been on a horse and they put him on a nice well behaved horse that's kinda slow so he wasn't over whelmed. All their horses are well behaved and they don't ride them one after the other they rotate them out to get some rest.WE WILL RETURN I PROMISE!

We visited Deer Path Riding Stables today (7/25/2014) and had a wonderful experience. The staff was friendly and the trails were beautiful. Definitely recommend this establishment.

As stated in an earlier review, its not fancy, but a great time. Staff is friendly and entertaining even. Guides are great. What I really enjoyed is, if you are comfortable riding, they will allow you to gallop a bit through the straighter sections of the trail. A lot more fun than the usual trot. They give lots of pointers that make the ride interesting and a good learning experience.

My daughter wanted to ride a horse, so we called pretty much as we were on our way. My husband and my daughter got to go on a ride alone with their guide, John. They had a great time on the trail while my toddler and I got to watch the next group get ready to ride before she got a pony ride of her own on the owner's daughter's pony. The horses are clearly well treated and well cared for and the owner makes an effort to emphasize that. Everyone was warm and friendly and we'd definitely go again. In fact my daughter wanted to go again right away. Good thing she didn't, because it started to rain, but we noticed they were still sending the riders out in the rain later in the afternoon. The place is very easy to find and convenient to Split Rock and Jack Frost.

When pulling into the farm, was not what I was expecting....looked a little run-down. The horses all looked in good condition/healthy! We went up to counter area to reserve a ride & the man (I assume was the owner) snapped at us telling us we should have made reservations. We came from 2 hours away, hard to plan definitively with traffic etc. Plus Web site does not say reservations required.Told the man we have some experience. We do own or own horse. My daughter has been involved with horses her entire life (13 years), my husband has since we have been together (24 years). I have 32 years experience. The owner seemed to be annoyed with that. Treated me like an idiot! Was making me very agitated!!! The girls; however, were great. Once we got on the horses and adjusted everything it was better. Then the owner came back to us. He kept getting snappy with my daughter. If I went to answer a question he asked her, he snapped at me. He has NO people skills for the business he is in!! Could not wait to get started to get away from him. One of his employees even told me to not listen to him or worry about him!! What does that tell you?!Once we got started, I could tell my daughter relaxed more. We were at the end of the line and doing fine. We own a Belgian, so this was my daughters 2nd time riding a quarter horse. She got to trot on her own and loved it! The lady guides were great, checking to make sure we were doing fine keeping up. The horses were well trained in the path they took, but mine & my husbands horses were previously allowed to cut corners & got too close to some of the trees...had to watch our legs. When we got finished, the owner was the one to help my daughter off her horse. His attitude was a little better. I was hoping to see a little more on the ride. No critters, as the guide was talking along the way. Don't know how much area we covered, but other review sites said you would see scenic Pocono woodlands. I would not say that. There were pond areas dug holding muddy water, breeding ground for mosquitos. Not very nice.Overall, they provided boots & helmets and had easy mounting onto the horses. For the money they bring in, they need to make things look more presentable. The owner definitely needs to be more people friendly for the business he does!!!We really enjoyed the relaxing ride. Even though I have experience, it was nice to relax. My daughter REALLY enjoyed herself! I would love to do this again, but maybe not here. I am on vacation, I don't need someone being snappy and having a bad attitude towards me and my family!!!They do not ask you to sign any liability waivers (in case you were to get hurt). Maybe he doesn't have liability insurance for such things. Maybe that is why he is so snappy?! Who knows. Definitely need insurance for this business!!!I hope my explanation of our visit helps you decide if this is where you want to experience horseback riding. Happy vacationing!!!
