Box car does this trip a couple of times a year. They serve their own brew for the trip. Music and food at Glen Mills for a couple of hours and a ride back to a West Chester. There was Mango Ginger Ale, an IPA and a Brown ale served the whole time. It's about 3 hours total.

This railroad is owned and operated by several train enthusiasts who happen to enjoy quite a large scale hobby! I happen to know Skip, one of the owners, who knows more about trains than anyone I know. We have had our faculty holiday party aboard the train, taken our family on the Santa Express, and taken the train to locate and return with our Christmas tree. There are many opportunities to make memories with family and friends, especially during the holidays or for a fun outing with a group.

I'm am sorry to see that you had a less than desirable visit with us. We recently had a new person join our team, and they have improved the quality of both the food being served, as well as the level of service to our patrons. We understand that things like a nice full cup of hot chocolate make your time with us more enjoyable, and by offering beverages and food for sale we are trying to enhance your visit, instead of make it frustrating for you.I welcome you to come and try us again for a fun trip along the Chester Creek.

The 90 minutes with Christmas carols with 2 banjo players, hot chocolate from the snack bar and visit with Santa...:what a fun experience for kids (and adults with them!). Train leaves from the West Chester station on Market St. and stops in Glen Mills for an extra picture, then back to West Chester. If you go on a cold day like we did: do bundle up -- it can be truly chilly. The train is technically heated, but keep in mind that being an historic train....you will freeze. Still worth the ride. :-)

I am sorry to see that you had such a disappointing visit with us. Every person in our 100% all volunteer staff wants to make your time on the West Chester Railroad an enjoyable one for every one of our patrons. There may be times when our staff appear to be gruff, but those instances almost always involve matters concerning passenger safety. We do not mean to sound rude or inconsiderate, but we must be firm because your safety is a great priority..I welcome you to come ride with us again in the future so that you may have a more enjoyable experience.

Have used this the past 3 yrs for Santa and Easter Bunny. Great for infants to teens plus parents. Total trip is 90 minutes. 30 minutes each way and 30 minutes with Santa/Easter Bunny and a stroll by the river. There is food and music the whole time.

Great ride on an historic train. Staff are volunteers who dress in period uniforms and are happy to answer any questions about the train. Scenic ride through beautiful fall leaves. Price was reasonable; $15 for Adults. Snacks available for purchase on the train. Heated cars are fine for cool weather. Was a fun, out of the ordinary adventure.

There's nothing like taking a ride on the scenic WCRR. Santa's Express is always a thrill for the little ones. The teens and adults will enjoy the scenic ride through the country. I think they run 3 or 4 trains on Sat & Sun during December.

Our family took the train ride on a regular weekend from West Chester to Glen Mills. The scenery with the fall leaves was fantastic and was good to learn some about history of the area. The volunteer staff was absolutely great.

The scenic train ride on West Chester is a fun and memorable 90 minute train ride that starts at West Chester and ends in Glen Mills. We did the Pumpkin Train Ride as part of the Halloween celebrations and we were lucky the weather was on our side. Taking the train ride is like a ride through history since it was built in the 1930s. The crew have tried to maintain the authenticity of the times and you will see that the windows and seats reflect the 1930s era. However with time, some parts have to be understandably changed. There is a inexpensive snack bar filled with chips, hot dogs, and drinks. The Pumpkin train ride was fun also because all the kids come dressed up. So I saw a honey bee, a lady bird, a super power and a few creepy crawlies. You will have a 15 minute stop at Glen Mills station which also includes portable restrooms, but no stops in between and no restrooms on the train. The Rail Road takes volunteers who help maintain the train, take visitors on tours and contribute in various little ways. The train schedule is available on their website westchester.netTeddy loves train and was absolutely delighted to be on it albeit it was a little rickety. Overall, Ill recommend this ride to friends, families and couples for a lovely day out.The ticket per adult was USD 15 with a handling fee of USD 3 per ticket. The train left the station on time and we returned on time to West Chester. Overall the volunteers did a great job to make the experience enjoyable giving out creepy treats on the train.

Took our grand kids on this wonderful, though short, train ride. There was Santa, hot chocolate and singing. The kids loved it. We stopped and visited an old train station and then rode back to West Chester. The kids loved it....parking is easy and what a fun way to start the Christmas Holidays but with a Holiday Train...and Santa of course!!!!!
