In the 70s, the PSU campus had the feel of an artificial place; the university did not grow up around any town; it was the town. In the intervening decades the place has grown and fits in as a Big Ten university town on the order of Champaign-Urbana or Iowa City, but not quite as complex or intriguing as Ann Arbor, Bloomington or Lincoln. The campus is pristine and very well laid-out, and the scenery all around is gorgeous in any season.

Walking downtown State College was so much fun, and exploring the campus was exciting. Seeing the history, ponds, wildlife for sure the heart of this small Pennsylvania town.

Penn State is beautiful campus adjacent to the town of State College. Things to do include concerts and sporting events in mutliple venues. The Arboretum is a beauriful place to visit. I have attended many events here and have enjoyed all of them. There are usually fees for parking as well as the admission fee to events.

Campus is beautiful, especially during off-peak times (summer). The campus is spacious and mostly flat with lots of open area.

Penn State. First class university, beautiful campus. As an alumnus and parent of two PSU graduates, spent a lot to time throughout this campus.

everything wonderful about this place & secure enough about my opinion to be comfortable with my 2 daughters attending school here for 4 years

Great to visit the campus but there is only garage parking so the streets are kept clear. Make sure to visit Berkey Creamery for some heavenly ice cream.

A lot of the buildings have been recently renovated, however the college still has that old school, collegiate charm. The campus is very cinematic that way. Very friendly campus and its not a trip to PSU without stopping at Berkey Creamery! They only have one size (which makes things a lot easier when crowds flood the store in the summer) however you can get whatever color sprinkles you want as long as they are blue and white! ;)

Very nice campus, getting very built up, seems like they put up a new building or 2 per year. Parking is limited, be prepared to hike the campus. Many attractions are available to pass the day, the students are usually very friendly. Gotta try the Creamery Ice Cream, a PSU tradition!

Went to visit our daughter. Visited a couple spots we have never been in over the years. If you like sports and have never been to the All Sports Museum at the stadium, check it out. We also look for other things to do in the general area when we go so we stopped at the Centre County Visitor's Center for the first time too. Very helpful.

Tremendous tour, fantastic students/faculty, amazing facilities. I really have to wonder why this is not the #1 state school in the US. I have been to OSU, UNC, UMich and the likes. This truly stands out.

Penn State University is a large, diversified school located in a small town atmosphere. There are ample restaurants, bars, and gift shop (many PSU item related) from which to choose. The campus is beautiful, and is a pleasure to explore (particularly in fall and spring). Many on campus events bring culture and sports in all its forms to this world class institution of higher learning. Explore - and enjoy the home of the Nittany Lion.

We travel to Penn State often, as our daughter is a student. Everything is top notch on campus. The students, visitors, employees on campus are all smiling and happy to lend a helpful hand. Tailgating at a football game is an experience unlike others, and when the game is over the place is cleaned to perfection. Everyone is proud to be a Penn Stater and often you can here random chants of WE ARE...Penn State. There is a lot to do on campus, from sporting events, to concerts, touring the campus, and just across the street is a wonderful town filled with restaurants and shops. Just don't forget to stop at the Creamery for home made ice cream.
