It is such a beautiful campus with all amenities and Eco friendly ambience that you get tempt to study here. Required peace to study, active students to motivate and beautiful libraries and reading rooms are few things amongst many need special mention.

The university campus is one of the best I have seen in United States. This university is the No.1 Public University according to many surveys and the infrastructure is quite amazing. One should spend lot of time in Central campus as the campus is in the middle of the town. The Law school building is a big attraction and the central campus is surrounded by nature, beautiful parks. Squirrel lovers will have an amazing time as they can see fat and cute squirrels all over the campus. One can feed these squirrels nuts, fruits and watching them eating is an amazing experience. The university has other campuses too and North campus is surrounded by natural beauty. University not only has outstanding faculty,infrastructure but also offers the best music experience too. Hill Auditorium hosts many music events and is a treat for music lovers. May to September is the best time to explore the university that looks mesmerizing with all greenery.

Incredible place, with incredible vision. Top choice for my kids. Architecture is lacking, and the two campuses is rough for those on North, but overall, the academic excellence and Go Blue atmosphere is too cool.

My wife have both been there and treated excellent, not my Granddaughter is in the Mott's Children's hospital for serveral days.

I attended the University of Michigan as a non-traditional graduate student. When I first arrived on campus, I was surprised to find that UM is actually two campuses, Central Campus and North Campus. Every other college or university that I've attended (five other institutions besides Michigan) consisted of self-contained campuses. There is a reason for two campuses. UM opened in 1817 in Detroit, and then moved to a 40 acre plot in Ann Arbor in 1837. The city of Ann Arbor grew along with UM, so eventually there was no land left on which the university could expand. Farmland was purchased in 1952, to allow for expansion and became North Campus. Engineering programs are located on North Campus. The buildings there are newer and more modern. Many of the buildings on Central Campus are beautiful, older, traditional buildings with interesting brickwork. Two campuses are no problem for students. The university has frequent, free bus shuttles that connect the two campuses.Michigan has established itself as "the Ivy League" of the Midwest. However, that classification is unjustified. It is no better or worse than any other major state university in the country, but has a superiority complex that is undeserved. Parents, if you send your kids to UM as undergraduates, they will be taught by graduates students just like at any other large institution. I know because I was one of those Graduate Student Instructors. Their education will be no better or worse than that which they will receive at other states schools. If you want them to receive a first rate education with individual, personalized attention, send them to a smaller school like Eastern Michigan University. The only advantage that they will have after graduating from UM is the Michigan name. Employers who know the real story, and most do, will not be unduly impressed by the Michigan name.Potential grad students - be very careful about selecting a graduate program at UM. I was accepted to all six graduate programs to which I applied, and all were rated in the Top 10 by "U.S. News and World Reports" for my field. It was six of one, half dozen of another as far as quality and name recognition was concerned. I ended up at UM mainly because it was the last school that I visited. I wish now that I had gone to any of the other universities to which I was accepted. UM is so impressed with itself that it does not support its grad students because it figures that we are so lucky to have the UM name on our diplomas. For example, when I requested on-line access to the libraries while I was writing my dissertation, UM would not grant that permission. Universities increase their standing with every graduate student they produce, so one would assume that they will do anything that is reasonable to help. Not UM. It doesn't matter whether a student has done six years of published research, don't expect on-line library access when writing if you are not registered as a student during that time. Research advisors are, for the most part, equally impressed with themselves and could care less if they are present for their grad students. As an older female, I was taunted and bullied by several lab partners who were too immature to know any better. Not once did our advisor attempt to stop the practice. In conclusion, when you graduate from the University of Michigan, you will leave with a "name" school but with an education that is no better than most large universities, and not nearly as good as that which is offered by smaller institutions.

Drove out to Michigan for a friend's wedding. Downtown bleeds Blue and Yellow while the campus is everything it is cracked up to be; not only do they have a sprawling campus, but the architecture and the history of the University is amazing to drink in. Do not miss a tour or even a visit!

GREAT spirit and heritage. Loved the sports programs! Really a world class school and sports program - a rare combination.

My daughter was in a theatre department production. Excellent. B&B couldn't be more convenient. Highly recommend it.

Go Blue!Who wouldn't love the top Public University on Earth that has history and the famous Big House for football....Wonderful education and diversity...plus big-time sports!

Stopped by the bookstore, which is in the downtown with all the other shopping. Everything you would ever need to bleed blue. I bought a tee shirt for a friend and a baby gift with "blue" bottoms. Really cute. A place to stop if you are in Ann Arbor for a gift for someone or yourself!

The best times to visit are during the Fall when classes are in and football has started or try mid-July with the Ann Arbor Art Festival. A lot of the students are away in the summer (not all though) and past alum and other come to Ann Arbor to see the wonderful art displays in July. It is a fun time to walk around, eat, drink, do some shopping and view great art. Word of warning, Ann Arbor is a great place to get a parking ticket too. They hand them out like candy, so it might be best to park in a ramp. Don't take your chances, the second your meter runs out they'll pop out of the gutters and ticket you.

It is just beautiful to walk around the campus and see such old and distinguished buildings. The Law Library is breathtaking with the high ceilings and beautiful stained glass Windows. The Law building is amazing - I would recommend taking a day and spending it walking the campus and having dinner at one of the fabulous restaurants in Ann Arbor - the Earle is outstanding.

Ann Arbor a wonderful city, U of M extremely historic and exciting to visit. Law Quad reminds me of Yale, go into the Michigan Union lower level for a snack and some Michigan memorabilia to take home -- T-shirts, notebooks, good stuff. Parking is often a challenge, but park where you can and walk around campus, see if you can spot Madonna's daughter Lourdes.

In the summer there is green grass everywhere, beautiful world class architecture, and a vibrant scene during the academic year. Neat little museums, lobbies, libraries, and study nooks galore.
