Located on the campus of the College of the Ozarks is the Ralph Foster Museum. The museum looks small on the outside but it is three floors full of donated items from household items, dolls, stamps, coins, cars, animals, etc. . . . My favorite section was the military section and person stories from soldiers.

Within the College of the Ozarks and one of my favorite museums. Always well maintained and offers a wonderful view of the Ozarks.

The Ralph Foster Museum on the College of the Ozarks campus has been referred to as the "Smithsonian of the Ozarks". It has eclectic collections, including numerous stuffed animals (bears, lions, tigers and many more. It has extensive collections of guns, pottery, and furniture. It is 3 floors of visual enjoyment. You should allow at least 2-3 hours to enjoy it, and there will definitely be something for everyone.

We have traveled to Branson for 30 some years, discovered college of the Ozarks restaurant, college that the students work for their schooling, food is grown by the students at the college and restaurant is worked by the students, I believe it is an agricultural school. Had always seen the Ralph Foster museum and thought it probably isn't worth seeing. This summer on a trip my husband and I went and what a find. They have an extensive gun collection, the car that was in the Beverly hillbillies and many more interesting items, it was just one of the best museums ever. You really need 4+ hours if you enjoy looking at historical items and reading about them and the awesome gun collection they have. Tammy B

Outstanding exhibits, set up well and very informative. The staff was fantastic, available but non-intrusive.

You need a 2-4 hours to view this museum because it has three levels, all accessed by elevators or stairs. The main floor - Beverly Hillbillies car, miniatures (circus, doll houses) ancient furniture/glassware, music of the Ozarks, art gallery, dolls, Rose O'Neill collection, primitive American (walk in log house, covered wagon, etc). 2nd floor is the extensive gun collection and stuffed wild animals. 3rd floor is history of the Ozarks, history of the college and other historical exhibits. The college has done an excellent job maintaining the exhibits and the students are very helpful explaining things if you have a question. The price is right - kids are free, seniors are $5 and anyone else is $6.

Average is the right word for this museum. It was meet to see the museum but the artifacts are in a bit of a crazy pattern and totally random. They have a huge collection of stuffed animals which is quite overwhelming. I would not recommend it for anyone with children, as there is not much protecting the artifacts so they can cause some trouble. Was ok, but will not return.

The cost is $10.00 per person and if you like cultural museums you will want to plan on a minimum of 3 hours. The firearm and animal collection is extensive and one of the best I have ever seen. Butterflies, doll collections, local history, quilts, civil war artifacts, gem stones, furniture and the list keeps going. Everyone will find something that interests them!

We spent several hours exploring the interesting exhibits at this museum. There are three floors of exhibits about the region. We also stopped at the grist mill on the campus. A great value if you enjoy cultural museums.

This place has lots of items to look at from Ozark gun collections to doll collectons to stuffed animals. The Beverly Hillbillies truck is even here. My favorite section is the section reserved for Ozark hillbilly music. Red Foley and more.

Excellent cheap family attraction that is hidden beyond the amusement in Branson. Beverly hillbillies car!! Guns, animals, butterflies, local history, civil war and so much more!!

Lamb225

Really great museum with many guns, artifacts, and even gemstones. The antique car from the Beverly Hillbillies TV show is also there.

We spent several hours in this museum and were surprise at the extent of the collections. My favorite was the Beverly Hillbillies' car.

Anyone visiting the Branson area should visit the Ralph Foster Museum at the College of the Ozarks. They have an extremely large gun collection ranging from miniature pistols to gatlin guns. They also have the original Beverly Hillbillies truck. They indian and pioneer artifacts from the Ozark area. There is a $6 fee for adults and it is well worth it. They have 3 floors of exhibits and I suggest you allow yourself a few hours to explore the museum. Although I don't think that you could see everything in an entire day. This is definitely a must-see.
