The Native American Indians sought these waters for the oysters and clams they provided... and you can paddle into these tidal grasses and get away from everyone, and everything that binds you to your usual life. Margaret makes every possible effort to provide you with what you seek. She is outgoing, experienced, and reliable. Lots and Lots of fun too! Give her a call, and on one of these sunny Spring, Summer, or Fall days, make the most of it, and drive over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel (a neat experience all on its' own) look for her little building there on the left (at the hotel) across from the Wildlife Reserve and catch a beach lunch/dinner on the Bay side behind the hotel. You won't even know the beach cafe is there until you drive to 'the edge"... a nice day all in all. A nice paddle on the ocean side, with an easy lunch/dinner and beverage at the beach cafe- and take in a famous Chesapeake Bay Sunset. Thanks Margaret, and I hope we can get over to Oyster in 2015!Rhonda the Redhead

For something fun to do during our visit we rented 3 tandem kayaks for the day to take out on the creek. Great rental deal, includes delivery and life jackets. Margaret was awesome!

These guys are great. We are locals and we use them all the time when we have visitors and need more than our three kayaks. They deliver them to the desired location, drop them off, and then go back and pick them up later for a very reasonable fee. They also provide the best guided kayak tours on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

Southeast Expeditions has our vote for summer fun! We were complete newbies to the stand-up paddleboards, but we had so much fun. Dave gave us (a 40 something mom and two 10 year old kids) a short lesson and stayed with us until we felt comfortable. He was a great instructor and really knew what he was talking about. They delivered and picked up right on the beach and it was 100% hassle free. We came back with a 50 something mom and a young teenager; they also had a blast. Then we switched to kayaks another day and found that to be so easy to arrange. SouthEast Expeditions is a fantastic group of people who love what they are doing and who make equipment rental a breeze. Highly recommend them for SUP or kayaks. Next time we want to do a kayak tour!

We were very impressed with how friendly and accommodating SouthEast was to our needs. This was our first visit to Cape Charles,Va. and it was a beautiful area to kayak. SouthEast Ex. has a connection where we stayed and our kayak was delivered and picked up at the Inn.We would not have had time to kayak in the early morning without them delivering it the night before. They also took the time to properly fit our lifejackets and seating. We are still amazed at the wonderful experience we had and look forward to another visit. Margaret who assisted us was outstanding.Thank you

We needed 3 kayaks. They had them ready early. The staff are very helpful, courteous and informative. We look forward to renting from them again for their winery tour to the Chatham vineyard. Good equipment, great foils reasonable rates.

For my birthday, my husband and I went on a tour of the Eastern Shore National Wildlife Reserve. It was an overcast day, but it was perfect for the tour. Dallas was so knowledgeable and friendly-- we really felt like we were on a kayak trip with a close friend. He had all sorts of knowledge for us. I was very pregnant for this trip... and Dallas was so kind and helpful-- I am not sure they get many preggos on their trips, but they were more than accommodating. Margaret was awesome as well, I believe she was who we booked through initially. Whoever handles staffing here does an awesome job-- I would hang on tight to these two! Book a trip if you can!

This past Memorial Day weekend my son and I (along with 6 of our friends) took a kayak trip around the waterways of Chincoteague Island. It was the first time for all of us and we loved every minute of it! SouthEast Expeditions was great in accommodating our group of (8) with our own personal guide. Our guide, Hillary Chesson was simply put -amazing!! She was very patient with us, even after we had to reconfigure people in the boats and go back ashore AFTER initially dropping into the water. She had a great sense of humor and more importantly, in depth knowledge of where to go and how to maneuver through the shallow parts of the passages during low-tide. She was very well informed (as she grew up in the area) on the local wildlife and offered interesting pieces of info through-out the tour.I have been going to Chincoteague Island since before my son's age of (11) and and am now 42 years old. Although sadly I have never done this tour before, I fully intend on a repeat trip and hope Hillary is available again!

Went with 3 other girls kayaking and we had an incredible trip. Our guide, Chris was extremely helpful, informative and patient since we were all beginners. By the time we finished, we felt like pros :-) ! We all had an amazing time and would highly recommend this trip if you are in the neighborhood. Thank you so much!

My husband, daughter and myself went to Southeast to rent stand up paddleboards. Mary gave us a lesson on what to do and sent us on our way. Paddling on Onancock Creek is a wonderful experience. The water is calm without a lot of boat traffic with the choice of several creeks that branch off.It is great to have such knowledgable guides with so much experience in the town. They also rent bikes and have a great shop right at the water.

My husband and I took a kayak tour to the Chatham Vineyard. The paddle was on calm waters and it was very peaceful. The tour of the winery and tasting were excellent. After the tasting we had a glass of wine and cheese platter. It was so much fun and my husband that isn't a big wine drinker really enjoyed it.

The first trip was through the marsh lands and our guide was Chris, very knowledgeable and fun! This was a family outing for my husband, myself and our 12 year old son.Our second trip was more of an adult trip, to Chatham Vineyards, for my husband and I. Margaret was the "Kayak Lady" made us laugh and learn! Julie was the host at the vineyard, and a lovely woman to meet.

We booked a 2-hour kayaking trip in the morning with our 7-year old. It was fun, but our daughter got a bit antsy at the end as it is a very calm and peaceful trip. It is a great trip for birds, esp in the morning. Our guide, Hilary, was so in tune that she got out her water splasher toy and gave it to her. So, not only was Hilary great and patience with kids, but she was an insightful, diplomatic and fun guide. Next time we go to Chincoteague, we will go on another trip and request Hilary.

Recently my brother and I took stand up paddle boating lessons from Southeast Expeditions. During the two hour period, we were instructed splendidly. The instructor, Chris, did a wonderful job of explaining and demonstrating everything, and my brother and I both caught on very quickly. We were learning in flat water, and when we went out the next day in much rougher water, we both felt very confident that we would be able to handle the water because of what we learned. Our experience in the shop was great too- everyone was so friendly and helpful. The boats that we rented were excellent, and both the lessons and the rentals were very affordable. Overall, I would recommend Southeast Expeditions to anyone 100%.
