the gloucester museum of history

For a change of pace from Williamsburg and Jamestown, we set out into Gloucester County, Virginia, approximately thirty minutes away, to visit this quaint museum and the historical buildings located just across the street. This museum features exhibits of Revolutionary, Civil War events and plenty of local history. There is no admission fee, and the museum volunteers were so engaging and friendly, we felt like family when we left. The museum is only open from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM, unlike most attractions in the "historic triangle" area, so plan accordingly.
