Stopped in to get a sandwich and felt like we had stumbled into foodie heaven! Not only did they have a great sandwich selection but wines galore and every little thing you could want for a picnic, a gourmet meal, and anything in between. Salted kale chips, local Virginia Wines, music by local artists, cheeses, pastas, wee gifties.....I can't wait to find an excuse to travel that way again just to stop in and shop.

Loved this place--we got our sandwiches here before heading to the wineries. Blue Slate is DELICIOUS! They have everything you could want in the way of provisions for an outing. It is adorable looking as well--the front was festooned with pumpkins, etc.

Now where else can you get a leg of goat for your theme party? A tad pricy but it has one-off versions of so many good things, from chips to cheeses and crackers. Extremely good coffee and fresh pastries as well. I stop here on most of my trips to Charlottesville, often picking up a sandwich. I have never been disappointed.

Originally an old fashioned country store that had fallen into disrepair, this original two story building has been re-imagined as a charming antique store with lots of variety, and plenty of "real" antiques interspersed with the eclectic mix of early 20th century collectibles and accessories. Located close to three Virginia vineyards and only about 1.5 miles off of State Route 250 between Crozet and Afton, this is a great place to stop when exploring the surrounding countryside. Kudos to the owner and her husband for bringing the building back and giving residents and visitors a great place to spend an hour or so.
