There isn't a lot to see here, but the flat surface and shaded trail makes up for the monotony. Easy to get good run times in and the flat trails are easy on the legs.

Concrete trails with frequent rest stops. Plenty of folks both walking and biking to make lone joggers feel safe. Several dogs but owners seem to be good about clean up. A few children but not so many on bikes/trikes as to cause a problem. Mile markers on trail.

We walk and run this trail frequently! The trail is smooth enough to rollerblade and there are lots of bicyclists here, too. The trail is almost 3 miles from one end to the other (6 miles round trip). There are waster fountains at 3 spots and a restroom in the middle. There is a big dog park near the Loop 281 parking lot, and a small dog park a little further down. We like to start at Rice Park off of Fairmont because there are water fountains and a restroom at this parking lot. There are deer who live in the woods near the path. We often see them in the early morning and just before dark in the evening. The path is concrete, so people with joint problems may want to try McWhorter Park or Long Park trails as they are asphalt and easier on the knees and hips.

This is the newest walking trail, lots of shade and benches. Also connects to a park with a nice playground and shelter.

This is more than a trail, it is parks, activities, exercise stations and views the entire route. Great for biking or walking, very busy on weekends. Special place to unwind and relax, great social areas for dogs too, large and small dog parks respectively.
