Drove the golf cart around while hubby played some golf learned a lot about the sport. Very inexpensive before 3pm!

This course used to be one of the better golf course in the 1980's. It is a shame, they must not put any fertilizer on it, weeds all over, very poorly maintained and operated. The pro shop was closed on a Sunday when I played, had to pay in the snack bar.

This course was in very poor condition. It reminded me of a runway with trees on either side. The cost was only $25 per person but this is another lesson of, "you get what you pay for".

For the price no one should expect great golf. Love the layout and remember when this was spectacular golf. Fairways are mostly weeds and bare spots. Tee boxes same. The greens are actually not in bad shape and were past.

This course has the potential to ge great. However, at this time the greens are horrible. Once your golf ball is on the green, just pick it up and go on to the next hole. Go after 3pm to get the best rate.

Challenging course, typical winter conditions. Course was run down a couple of years ago but it looks like the folks are working hard on it. Good value for the money. Bar closed to early (4 pm)

Texas National is located in a beautiful country setting. The fairways and greens are not perfect but good enough to have a challenging and enjoyable round of golf. The heavily wooded location may cost you a few balls but it is worth it. I consider it a great place to play for a reasonable price.

A good course, with few "tricked up" holes, maintained well and inexpensive. It is located in Willis, between Huntsville and Conroe and is a very good value. It compares equally to Panorama and Raven Nest (Huntsville) in every way. All 3 are a good experience.

Played there yesterday. The greens were in pretty good shape, especially in comparison to the previous two rounds at two other nearby courses!A lot of blind shots. So, if you don't have GPS, it will be an interesting day. Not a real long lay out, but pretty tight in places. So, if you are not hitting it where you want to, it will be a handful. Good variety of tee boxes. So, it should be of for a variety of abilities. But, don't let the misconception of lack of distance push you back to a tee box that you wouldn't normally play. You will pay!It was a little washed out in places. And some parts of the golf course were very soft and mushy from the rain. While other areas were still hard as concrete. But, as I mentioned earlier, the greens were pretty nice and pretty consistent.I am sure that due to the extreme drought, general course aeration has not been a priority. Too bad though, if it had been aerated recently, all of this great water would have been able to be absorbed and the results would have made this track fantastic. Some nice elevation changes and the course winds through a well developed wooded area.Play it if you are in the area.
