I went to the waterpark at arrowwood Feb 27 and short version...Had a flippin' blast! The water was super warm, the slides were fun, the tube ride was fun, LOVED the bucket that poured water over our heads!!Dressing rooms were clean. The snack bar had a good variety and offered pizza. What more could a person ask for ?give it 5 out of 5 stars !
We planed a family Christmas two night stay in the townhome. The townhouses are beautiful, a lot of room for 7 adults and 4 children...however, our rooms were cold @ night and the living room was blazing hot! The beds were very uncomfortable as well. I have been to the spa about three times now and am never that satisfied with my services.....overall too expensive for our experience and will look at a different resort/water park to go to next time...oh and the water park was so-so as well...the kids had fun which is the point but the kiddie pool was kind of cool water. Hot tub was great, the guy behind the counter in his 20's had "meth mouth" and it was super disgusting...I work in the dental field so i know what that looks like.
The lazy pool was relaxing. My husband and I climbed the steps quite a few times to join our 6 grandkids down the winding slides. Had a game of water basketball going too.
Parents, supervising adults have to pay full price to chaperon children even though they are not using the pool. Food is lousy, changing areas messy. Would not recommend,
Great variety of water options with constant oversite by lifeguardsNoise level was pretty intenseLong distance from rooms
Stayed at the resort and it was very dead so the water park was not crowed. My kids are 8 and 13 but still enjoyed the waterpark. I can see how it would be PACKED in the winter, a nice option for sure. It needs a little TLC but over all a nice place for a day or two.
Alexandria can be a bit low on things to do with kids in the winter, and Big Splash at Arrowwood Resort is a great alternative for those who don't have a membership to the Y. It is a bit pricey, but if you are willing to hang out (or go in) then it is well worth the cost. The lifeguards are young but friendly, and there are vests available for kids who are less comfortable in the deeper water.
I really liked that they had concessions and a bar available in Waterpark area! I wish they had more of a selection of beer and some wine coolers available.
Rooms were nice and big. The kids had a blast at the water park and the pool. Fun and relaxing for the parents too! Thank you!
There were a lot of options at this waterpark. Our only complaint is the inconsistancies in the practices of the lifeguards. Some would let our kids on the big slides and some wouldn't. Sometimes the water and air temps are so cold that we shivered.
This park needs updating. The big bucket does not pour down any more, the water gun's all are broken, their is an inch of dust on the tops of everything.
I was not impressed. They lighting is poor and it was super busy on MEA weekend. I might go again on a quieter weekend
Great place to take your kids, they have a waterpark and lots of outdoor activities for the kids and adults. Golf course, Mini Golf, Boat ride, Paddle boat and many more activities. The food was fantastic and their Sunday brunch was just out of this world. About 2 miles from the resort is a Winery called Carlos Creek Winery where you can take a tour of the winery and sample some of their great wine. It is a great place to relax for 2 or 3 days.
Average in most respects. it was nice that the maximum depth was 4'6" so our kids didn't need too much supervision. They had a good number of lifeguards on staff. The concession stand was over-priced. Chipping paint and rust some places. Needs a facelift. Comparable to a below-average community center in the cities.
It is a little small. The snack bar is pretty good for quick snacks when you are hungry. I felt very comfortable letting the kids run around on their own as the lifeguards were very attentive.
