My fiance and I went for A two hour ride- and what an amazing experience. Matt is a very empathetic, experienced and responsible guide. I have experience with icelandic horseback riding whereas my fiance only have tried it A couple of times before, but none of us has tried cowboy riding before. Matt gave precise and great instructions before We went out and during the ride. We felt so safe and 'taken Care of' the whole trip. The horses are wellkept and healthy looking and the equipment is of highest quality. I would definitely recommend at least two hours to really get the feel of it and to see more of the beautiful surrounding Nature. MH cowboy is a great and highly recommendable choice for a very authentic riding experience with great horses in fantastic surroundings.

The ride was terrific and the horses were well trained but still had some pep. We went for 2 hours but an hour would be fine, too.

Matt was our cowboy guide and led our relatively inexperienced party on our two hour trek. He meets all the expectations of cowboy - looked it sounded it and clearly lives and loves it.Horses were great and the guidance and information given was both humorous and useful.We all loved it and thought this was a high value experience for the money.

My husband and I went on a 3 hour personal ride with Matt, the Cowboy. He is a great guide and points various things along the way. I am not as comfortable on a horse as my husband and he took the time to explain things to me and help me out along the way. The horses are very well taken care of and it's obvious. I would highly recommend any of Matt's tours. The trails are great and you get beautiful scenery. What a wonderful experience! Thanks Matt!

This is the best trail ride! My husband and I love to go horseback riding on vacation and go every year. We've been throughout the U.S. and in other countries. This was the best ride by far. Beautiful, healthy, and well-trained horses and Matt was an incredible guide. We took a 2 hour ride through the beautiful mountains/trails of Moab - saw petroglyphs and lots of jack rabbits. Matt picked horses that fit our level and gave us plenty of guidance and training to try to improve our riding. He knew more than any guide or cowboy we've ever ridden with. I can't say enough about him! And we loved that his 2 dogs joined us on the trial. Thanks so much, Matt!!!

A last minute booking as arrived in Moab late but Heidi was very friendly & accommodating to book a ride for the following morning. Heidi gave me good directions & I found the ranch easily. Met Matt & he quickly got me a good horse and a quick lesson in Western riding as only ridden English before. Matt took me on a 2 hour ride where he guides you at your own level of confidence," no pressure" trotted & cantered only when ready, horses very well behaved but responsive. Highly recommend MHcowboy, friendly & hugely knowledgeable in horsemanship, Thanks for the Western riding experience, would certainly rebook.

we had an incredible 2h ride with Matt.first of all, he is such a nice and friendly person, the horses are well trained, gentle and trustable. the landscape is increbidly beautyful. The ride was great, we were allowed to galope and the horse "james" was perfect for my level. Matt knows lots of things and make the ride funny and safe. At the end, he even let me try some training and gave me lots of advices to do some western training.it was the best horseback ride ever (did it before in monument valley, Bryce, tetons, paradise valley)

Matt is the real thing. My husband, son and I went on a 3 hour ride. He was patient and chose horses that complimented our abilities and comfort levels. He was relaxed and made everyone feel comfortable with the various terrains. We had beautiful views, petroglyphs, jack rabbits and bunnies. It was wonderful. Just being out there in the serenity of the setting and horses was a great experience. The horses are not trail blind but do follow directions easily and were well trained. Thank you Matt for such a wonderful day.

My wife and I went on a two hour tour and had a great time. The last time my wife was on a horse she was thrown off, so she was very hesitant to ride again. I am so thankful that we picked MH Cowboy because I guarantee it took someone as patient as he is to get her comfortable again. By the time we were halfway through the ride she was relaxed and having a great time. I am very grateful for them and will go again when we come back for our next trip. Thank you!

Ok being a city slicker and deciding to take my gal on a horseback ride (she likes horses) was a bit of a stressor for me... I read the reviews here and decided MH was worth a shot. What I found in the experience was worth sharing. The people running MH cowboy are totally authentic and took the time to make me relaxed. Even took the time on the trail to teach me horseman 101. These people are down to earth and experts at the same time. We opted for the two hour ride and it was just perfect to see the sights. mat was fantastic and really cares that everyone have a great experience - No matter what the rider experience level is.I can see why they received so many positive reviews. This adventure was a winner for us and it was a great alternative from all the hikes wed done.Two thumbs up for MH cowboy.

In planning a last minute trip, I wanted my kids to experience something they would all enjoy. Heidi was gracious in accommodating us. My 8 year old is a horse lover so she was tickled pink. It had been a few years since the older kids had gone horseback riding. Matt made the trip a true experience for them and upon the return reported this was the best horseback riding trip ever. Very personalized and they never felt as if it was a routine. Would recommend MH Cowboy for anyone visiting Moab!

When we travel my family and I often go on trail rides because it gives us another way to see the country around us so we have gone on quite a few rides. My husband and I rode with MH Cowboy today and it is the best ride I can remember going on. Our guides were one of the owners and his daughter. When he gave directions for controlling the horse he actually gave us a chance to practice before hitting the trail. We rode for a couple of hours with a stop to see some petroglyphs. He was personable and easy to talk to as he kept an eye out to make sure everyone was comfortable. Best of all this outfit keeps groups at 6 or less and we had a beautiful evening ride with only 2 of us. A great find! We will absolutely be back next time we are in Moab.

Enjoyed a morning trail ride with Matt who provided an authentic and educational trail ride in surprisingly diverse terrain along cliff side petroglyphs, washes and upland desert a mere 15 minutes south of Moab. This ride was essentially a private trip with my 11-yr old daughter and me and our guide, Matt had a very calm way of helping my daughter "guide" the horse. Matt provided excellent horsemanship tips along the way and informative snippets of local history and lore. This is not your long train of over-the-hill horses where you stay in line. This was an excellent horse trail trip, on trained buy spirited horses and by far the best horse trail ride I've every been on. MH Cowboy is small family business and has set the new Gold Standard on how to present an authentic trail ride.
