I am an avid home brewer, and I love to support anyone that is taking the leap of faith that I have yet to do! I went opening night, and became a member of the lamplighter society, met most of the employees, and talked at length with the owners.I was impressed with the quality selections they provided, as well as their charismatic attitude toward their business/passion.I wish this place the best of luck, it seems they have a pretty loyal clientele on the nights they are open, and the feeling of being at home away from home is inviting.Stop by and have a pint or two!

This microbrewery, right downtown Johnson City, is located in a cool space. A ground floor suite in what looks to be an older commercial building. The beer batches are small, as in nanobrew, so you feel a part of the creative process. The Piney X and Tennessee Pale Ale were my favorites. The nice couple that are the brewers/owners are a delight and make you feel right at home. This place has potential.Note, if you are in need of food, Main Street Pizza is in the same building and the brewery allows "take in". Also, there is an excellent authentic German restaurant called Freiberg's just down the street. Both are excellent. Parking on the street is sparse, but there are free city lots behind the building.Will return again when passing through Johnson City.
