There is a run for everybody on this mountain. It is huge. And if you think you're really in shape, start at the top of Big Burn and go for the bottom.

I am a solid blue skier and this place was great for me. The terrain is expansive and the grooming is great. The on mountain amenities were first rate. The only thing missing were glove warmers.

so we hit snow....makes any mountain shine...this one has long long runs....be in shape ....with cruisers that will "burn" you thighs. and ample trees.....aka powerline.........to please the best of skiers.

This mountain accomodates an intermediate to advance skier best. It's groomed slopes make even the more difficult terrain easier skiing.

scenic mountain. great for intermediate to advance skier. almost always has good snow. i like it better than the other 3 aspen resorts.

After skiing Vail and Breckenridge I think I have found a new home. The mountain is huge, with wide open terrain for various levels of skiers. The view from the top (or mid mountain for that matter) is amazing.

good variety of slopes from expert to beginner. for a family, it is great because advanced skiers can skill one side of the run and intermediates another while still using the same lift. if you go, buy your tickets on line at least a week ahead of time to save money.

My family and I (wife, 13 year old daughter & 10 year old son) spent 10 days at Snowmass in January and even though the snow was not great we had a fantastic time. All staff were very friendly, nothing was too much trouble and everyone went out of their way to help. A couple of examples of this were the Lift Operators leaning on the back of the ski lifts to lower them for the smaller children and I purchased a t-shirt which ended up being the wrong sort. When I contacted the Resort to find out where I could purchase the correct one they asked for what I wanted and sent the correct one to me in Australia for free. All the Ski Instructors we had were excellent. I could go on and on but you need to try it.

This place has excellent runs, and it's easy to get from place to place. The staff throughout is wonderful, and very helpful. We skied for 6 days. The snowshoe tour offered by ACES is excellent, and a nice diversion if you are tired of skiing. The automated lift passes worked reasonably well. Everyone is laid back and not at all arrogant. There is no "outstanding" on-mountain dining, and food is expensive. If you have the option, bring your own lunch.

The ski hill is very well maintained and convenient. High speed chairs, and gondolas and very good restaurants half way up the mountain.

After having skied several mountains out west (Aspen, Vail, Breckenridge, Heavenly, Park city, Deer Valley), I can unequivocally say that Snowmass is my favorite. The mountain is huge - terrain for every level of skier. It is also very well maintained. They do two different shifts of grooming overnight resulting in different levels of grooming by the time the mountain opens. They also do a "noon groom" each day. There are some amazing runs - I'm a solid blue skier, and love the runs off of the Elk Camp Lift to the right -- beautiful, tree-lined, long, and interesting. The most amazing thing about this mountain is that it is ridiculously easy to traverse between lifts. Even the "connector" trails are fun. My arms are never tired from having to manipulate flat trails between peaks.Highly recommended!

I like skiing everything and Snowmass has a lot to explore. Its a big mountain, like Vail, but has the added benefit of free shuttle to Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, and Buttermilk (x-games). Will go back again and again.

Another area to ski in Aspen is Snowmass. Great area to ski as it is massive. With 3,332 acres of skiable terrain, makes it a very popular spot to ski. It has something for everyone. This ski area is larger than the other 3 areas put together.

I'm rating mostly the ski area. Miles of excellent runs at Snowmass. Diverse areas to ski - lots of intermediate which we love. Well groomed or moguls - take your pick. We've skiied many different resorts in Idaho, Utah and Colorada and this is our favorite area. Four mountains total including Snowmass to choose from. If you're a beginner start at Buttermilk mountain to get your confidence then maybe move to Snowmass, Aspen, Aspen Highlands. Lots of ski instruction is done at Buttermilk because of the groomed conditions and the not so severe green and blue runs. Snowmass has excellent dining on the mountain in many locations - all very good. Lines during the week are shorter and you get more runs in/hour. Weekends result in more local skiers and the lift lines can get very long. Avoid holiday weekends if you can to have the slopes to yourself! These are the worst times to ski for our money.

They definitely needed snow! We like the mix of challenging terrain and intermediate runs. Great place for families!
