Water Valley has the 18 hole Pelican "Lakes" course and 9-hole "Falls" course...this review is for the 18 hole layout. We played the last week of October enjoying the phenomenal weather..,.the course was in great shape from tee's to greens. The 1st 6 holes was 90% cart rule which was a pain as there weren't 100/150/200 markers. The last 13 carts were allowed so their GPS were quite helpful. This is a wonderful course, I would say favoring the player with a cut or slice in particular. It is pricey for this region, but there are deals if you shop around. All in all a very special and beautiful operation with great views, tons of water, and run 1st class.
Same great food, even better atmosphere. The live entertainment in the new downstairs has really changed the place. We are regulars, and will continue to be!
I've been playing here since they opened, at least once a year. They continue to improve things every time I am there. A bit spendy, but worth it if you are a golfer that appreciates nice courses.
Our company took about 15-20 people over to Pelican Lakes Restaurant after a meeting. They moved tables together for us to seat us. The food was very good. I had a large burger with cheese and bacon. I noticed others had large salads. Check out the wooden doors and walls that make this place really nice. The view is excellent along with the service. This is the place to take someone for a special occasion.
I have played this course several times and always find the course to be in great shape and one that never plays the same. The course is built around numerous lakes and the Poudre River runs through the course too. It is a challenging, yet enjoyable with a variety of very scenic holes. A lot of opportunities to take risky shots or play it safe down the middle. Only down-side is it is a little pricey compared to other courses in the area. Check out Golf Now, as you can sometimes find a few reduced green fee opportunities on that site.
We were there for a wedding recently- which is very expensive- and the coordinator there made everyone feel like it was a horrible inconvenience for her to have to deal with this wedding- which is her JOB! The coordinator was no where to be found all day, until about 20 mins before the ceremony when we tracked her down for transportation for the bride. The ceremony went fine, had to be moved from the original location because a storm destroyed the first site and they were unable to sufficiently repair it to make it appropriate looking for a wedding. Fine, they were helpful with this, but when we asked them about signs directing people to the location, they assured us they would put visible signs up so guests would not get lost. This was not done at all- and the location is extremely confusing for their "premier wedding site". The dinner was less than impressive as far as the food went, the wait staff once inside was terrific, they obviously do not take lessons from their boss, who did not follow through on much. Overall, there are an infinite amount of better locations for a wedding in CO, dont waste your money, go somewhere else.
I have heard there is more waterfront on this course than any other in the country, not sure if that is true but it has spectacular scenery with many holes boardering water. Fun course to play, just enough challanges to make it interesting every time you play.
Not all golds found on the mountains. One of noco's hidden gems. If you like golf this won't disappoint'
We met family members at this restaurant, so we had a total of six people. We called ahead for a reservation. Upon our arrival, they said they were expecting us and our table was ready. We were immediately greeted by the waitperson and placed our drink order. The drinks came quickly and the food orders were placed. Our table ordered hamburgers, fried shrimp and the Prime Rib which is available on Friday and Saturday evenings. The Prime Rib is an 8 ounce cut. However, you can increase the size your Prime Rib for an additional one dollar per ounce. They have a fully stocked bar and a nice selection of beer. If I could make one suggestion, I would upgrade the wine selections. Overall a good value and the food was Yummy. The view of the lake is wonderful. The restaurant is clean, spacious, and makes a great impression with the log-cabin look and feel. Enjoy! I will eat there again on my next trip to Windsor.
The Falls 9 is a fun and well maintained track, and a higher handicapped golfer would really love it. It still has enough challenges and scenic holes for all golfers, just not as lengthy. It is not as crowded and just a lot of fun
This is a great course! The original 18 holes are very challenging, with lots of water on either side. The new 9 holes play short, but are also a challenge (including an island green on #9). GPS carts always make for a fun round!
