We've ridden here a couple of times with friends and young family members. Great guides! Happy horses! This trail is a little more straight up and down, rocky than the National Park Gateway Stables trails but so much fun! The guides are wonderful.

Scenic views along ride up and down a mountain trail. Guide had interesting information to share about the area and the stable.

My family and I went on the two hour ride up the mountain. Had I known that the entire ride was almost straight up or straight down, I wouldn't have gone. It had rained before we got there and the trail was narrow, muddy and rutted. The horses were slipping. My husband's horse, in front of me, almost lost his footing at one spot, when his foot seemed to be suctioned into the mud. Where it wasn't muddy, it was rocky, and the horses had to jump up or down to traverse the rocks. One horse liked to nip the rear of another. The trail was single file. I was at the end so I couldn't hear what our guide was saying, and it was not the pleasant family ride that I expected. Maybe because it was later in the afternoon, the horses seemed tired. I grew up with horses, so this wasn't the first time I've been on a horse. I wouldn't recommend this trail to anyone, especially if they had younger children.

Cowpoke would be my first recommendation to anyone wanting to ride in the Estes Park area. My developmentally disabled, hearing impaired sister has wanted to go on a horseback ride for years. The last time she was on a horse she was 8 years old. She immediately fell off and hasn’t ridden since. So I wanted to break her back in easy. Cowpoke seemed the perfect place so made a reservation for a morning 1-hour ride. We were blessed with a beautiful day, great horses and an awesome guide, Sarah. What we hadn’t taken into account was that my sister had hip replacement surgery two years ago and still has not gained a full range of motion. She did OK going up but was in extreme pain coming down which led to fear as well. Sarah was incredibly patient with her and talked her the whole way down. Another guide came up to help as we approached the stables and was just as caring and patient. Because of the pain, my sister had a hard time dismounting and they talked her through it, never showing any sign of impatience. Even after all that trauma my sister asked for a picture with Sarah. I am so thankful to all the staff for their help and care. 5 stars plus!!!!

I don't know how they did it but these guys managed to please my boyfriend (a very inexperienced rider) and me (a very experienced rider). I usually hate going horseback riding with commercial groups because I want challenging trails and a horse with a little spirit. This place had exactly what I was looking for and I was very happy we chose to give it a shot. Our guide (Ashley P.) was spunky and informative. I'd go riding with her again any time! We had a mix of horses from really mellow to a little bit of spirit. A perfect mix for different ranges of riders. The trail was absolutely awesome too. Lots of challenging ups an downs which our horses managed extremely well and a good amount of wildlife to see along the trail. I highly recommend Cowpoke Corner Corral and Ashley P!!

Trail ride up mountain is well worth the time! With Rachel as our guide we were well equipped for the 3 hr trip up the Mt. We were novice riders but we felt very comfortable all the way. We had a private ride and the views from the top of the Mountain were spectacular as was Rachel !!

I have been riding horses for over 30 years and I have never experienced anything like this! Our guide was friendly, very patient and full of knowledge! The horses are well kept and extremely well behaved. My fiancé had never ridden before but he absolutely loved it! Thank you so much for an experience that will stay with us for a lifetime!!

My wife and I recently visited Estes Park where we decided to take a trail ride. We chose Cowpoke corner corral and glad we did. The horses are very well cared for and they knew the trail well, as an infrequent rider this was very important. Our guide Larissa was very informative as we rode telling us the history of the area and the many different views along the 2hour ride. I would highly recommend Cowpoke Corner Corral - great horses, good guides and beautiful views!

We had a great ride, getting to see lots of Rocky Mountain National Park beauty and enjoying the time with our guide and horses. Belle, our guide, had an incredible knowledge of the history of the park, the names of the mountains, the wildlife and fauna of the area, and was overall fun to be with. The horses seemed to be well taken care of. I have taken a few trail rides in Estes before from other companies but this was by far the best. The 3 hour ride took us up part of a mountain and offered great views of Deer Mountain. Belle was engaging with our family and made us feel extremely welcome and comfortable with the horses and the ride. Great job Cowpoke Corral and great job Belle!

On a July 2014 week in glorious Rocky Mountain National Park, one of the highlights was our family ride at Cowpoke Corner Corral. Having been visiting this area of 20 years, we somehow missed this gem in prior travels. We have ridden in the past at their sister corral National Park Gateway, which is a scenic and peaceful ride on the more level terrain of RMNP. This year's venture at Cowpoke took us up and down the scenic Great Track Mountain. Definitely a more challenging ride but we felt attended to, safe and informed every step of the 3 hour ride with our guide Bel. She was friendly, attentive, enthusiastic, informative and aware of the needs of both riders and horses. We could not have had a better experience. The horses were well cared for and properly fitted to our riders experience level, ages and size. Bel made it the best ride we could have expected. She is a great representative of the staff and attitude at Cowpoke.

My husband and I don't have much experience riding horses, but we thoroughly enjoyed the 2 hour ride we took up into the mountains. Our guide was friendly and informative. The view was amazing and we even stumbled upon a young black bear. We ended up a little stiff from the ride, but it was totally worth it. The only thing I didn't like was the staff running the front desk was a little rude and not as friendly. The price was very affordable as well. I would go again.

We didn't make reservations but were lucky enough to get in for a 2 hour trail ride at Cowpoke. We first tried their sister stables at National Park Gateway but they didn't have any openings. I don't know which trail would have been the best but we were happy with Cowpoke. The lady that checked us in wasn't the friendliest and I was worried the rest of the trip wouldn't be good but our guide Belle was such a super nice girl. My 9 year old had a hard time getting Barron to move but Belle was sweet and patient and kept telling my daughter what to do. After we got up and around the first corner it went a lot more smooth. The trail ride is amazing from on top of the horse. We're all novice riders and were a bit nervous on some of those rocks but the horses were incredible and knew exactly what to do. They looked healthy and well taken care of which is a huge plus. I wouldn't want to contribute to a company that harms animals. Unfortunately we didn't see any wildlife on our tour but the view alone was well worth it. I highly recommend a horse ride to anyone that visits the mountains. Thanks Belle for making our family vacation even better!

Leandra was a great guide. My wife and I were the only two on the trail with her. We saw spectacular views and she was very knowledgeable. Nice two hour ride. Saw deer, wild turkeys and other wildlife. Great views of the Continental Divide and the RMNP.

We took a last minute trail ride with our 6 year old son and 8 year old daughter. Our guide Belle was fantastic see was very kind and knowledgeable. Our 2 year old son wanted to ride a pony and had a change of heart at the last minute, they went out of there way to take care of him. We will defiantly be back.
