Very large and impressive looking university sits atop one of the big (if not the biggest) hill in Ithaca. I can't think of anything that really stands out about it other than that it looks very well-maintained. Cornell graduates of course love Cornell and Ithaca. The undergraduate admissions information session was very rushed compared to Penn's and Columbia's presentations. The speaker seemed to have more information to present than time to present it. A different pace may have offered people brains a chance to catch up and ask better questions. The Powerpoint slides had Fall 2013 information instead of Fall 2014.The student guided tour was very good.

My son is considering attending Cornell Univ this upcoming Fall. We went there this past weekend for an orientation and tour. Even though it was snowy cold weekend, the campus is constantly bustling,, it never stops. The old architecture is like taking you away to England to visit Harry Potter. The campus is tremendous. We did not stay at the Statler Hotel on the campus, but wish we had. We drove around the campus Friday evening around midnight, and I was very at ease, although many students were walking everywhere, groups dressed up and out for the evening, everyone seemed happy and sober. There was no signs of trouble that I could see. We drove around until 1:30am, and it was like that the entire time. I was pleasantly surprised to such well behaved young adults. As we were driving back to Albany after our 2 day stay, it dawned on me, I never saw one single police officer or police car on or around the campus, which is quite the opposite of State University's in NY. The shops and eateries are everywhere. The coffee shop is awesome and the crepe carts are to die for. I had the best cinnamon crepe I ever had in my life there, and I've had crepe's in Paris. The staff at Cornell is very helpful and friendly. Students we spoke too seemed to like everything but the cold weather. There were only 2 things I wished were a bit better, the roads are very narrow and I was fearful I would hit someone or something by accident because there are so many people on foot and cars going all directions. The other matter is the dorms for transfer students are at the bottom of rather steep hill, and there is a good 20-30 minute walk for my son to get to the area of campus where his classes will be, for he will be without a car. Although, there are buses on campus running constantly, the costs are not included in the tuition and/or dorm fee's which one student had complained to us about. For the cost of the tuition and dorm, one would think the bus rides to and from dorms/classes/eateries on campus would be included. I still give this University a Top Shelf Rating,,,, it truly is a remarkable institution. Almost makes me want to go back to school!!

Cornell has an amazing campus. If you can afford to go there all the power to you. I was lucky enough to be visiting for the NYS track championships. Parking is not the easiest there. Make sure you go to the dairy bar and get some ice cream!

Was at Cornell for an event. I found the campus driving experience to be uncomfortable. There are booths where people can tell you where to park, but I never found anyone in them? Park in the wrong place and the parking police happily slap a ticket on your car. Don't go without a native.

So it just happens to be one of the best Universities in the world, but beyond that is/are all the great things that are going on inside the buildings and in the outdoor spaces as well. It is a place for learning for the students from all around the world who go there, and it seems to support fantastic experiences and learning, and events for people like myself who do not attend classes there. The libraries, museums, and event spaces such as the Schwartz Center for the Performing Arts are always full of activities.

Why would you ever want to visit this place in the winter? You don't is the answer. Do you remember that scene in the second star wars movie where Luke has to crawl into that weird ostridge thing, well that is what Ithaca is like and the buildings are the ostridge except they smell worse.

There are numerous things to do on the beautiful campus at various times of the year. It is a lovely place to walk and explore. An impressive college area.

There's lots to do on Campus. Our favorite is the Ice Cream Bar. If you come at the right time you can watch the production process from the observation galary. There's a wide selection of flavors. You can eat in or take out. They aren't open on week-ends, and they close around 5:00 PM on weekdays.

The campus of Cornell University has so much to offer, in addition to being absolutely beautiful...there are world-reknowned botanical gardens...perfect for strolling and photography...an amazing bookstore...several cool places to dine...a great museum...architecture you don't see often...Vistas and views that will astound you...especially from Libe Slope. Great birdwatching areas as well. A huge student population studying everything from liberal arts to business to art to architecture to engineering to all the sciences and to graduate programs in just about everything...masters and Phd programs in many areas. My son is in the Phd program for biomedical sciences. His roommate is in the law school. The medical school is located in NYC. The Cornell campus is full of life and the hustle and bustle of a small city...yet located in a rural section of Ithaca. A beautiful campus with natural resources, nature, gorgeous architecture, and unlimited photo opportunities. They offer several types of tours...guided walking tours, freshman tours, and even several special tours...historical tours and even private tours for a modest fee. If you have an opportunity to be on this amazing Ivy League campus...definitely take advantage...it might take the better part of two days, but you will thoroughly enjoy and love it.

Aside from the formal reasons of visiting, you should try their Cornell ice cream, Cornell maple syrup and of course their fresh milk. Available at the cafeterias around campus.Don't forget to try their hotel too. Great cuisine !

This is a spectacular campus with incredible architecture. Make sure you stop by Uris Library and the White reading room - it's as if you stepped into a Harry Potter movie!

We loved exploring the Cornell campus. The bookstore is great (though a little expensive for titled products) and the foliage was spectacular, even late Oct. early Nov. The waterfalls are so unique and beautiful.
