This is "the" neighborhood movie theatre for Bayside. THey have a good selection of newly released movies. They have 5 small theatres. Buy your tickets online before going to the theatre as the ticket lines are long and slow. Go early or you may have to sit in the first row. Snacks are very overpriced with long lines - bring your own. The theatre seats do move with a small rocking action. Some don't work well. Overall, the best thing about the theatre is that it's in Bayside. Nothing else is special.
What can I say about this place?!?! OMG the seats are awesome!!! Huge, comfy reclining chairs with cup holders in the spacious armrest!!! The absolute perfect way to watch a movie!!! Another bonus is there is a food place right next door as well as a shopping center behind with a Red Mango, Kohl's, Boston Market, Modell's, Starbucks..... (oh, plenty of parking, too!!! A triple bonus) Good advice: If possible, reserve your tickets online, because if it's a popular movie, they will sell out fast!!! As you can imagine, there are not as many seats as you would find in an average theatre with seats so small and uncomfortable, that it's hard to enjoy a 2 to 3 hour movie!!!!
Good selection of popular movies. A little pricey. Recliner seats are very comfortable, but switching to the recliner seats have reduced the number of seats in each section of the theater. Food, snacks and refreshments are expensive. Sound system is very good.
Very nice theater with leather, reclining seats and great sound system. Ticket prices way too high, so are concession stand prices. I go to the Douglaston theater where everything is half-priced.
Ok, so the new renovated theatre seems so goo, but reality the place was so disgusting before. There was soda on the seats that was dried up but there. The new seats changed comes with a more expensive ticket. The restrooms are on the bottom level, and so are the snacks/ refreshment area.
The best theater to see a movie, it is like being in your living room. Great leather lazy-boy type seating
This is my fav theatre in this area. However it can be expensive. The ticket price is on a upward sliding scale according to the time. The earlier is much cheaper. The snack bar is first rate.of course it is expensive like all movie theatres.the popcorn is great and they have these soda machines with every flavor, really, you wouldnt believe it! The seats are very comfortable and adjustable. I love them but, you could fall asleep in them. Their is an elevator but the bathrooms are only in the basement, so not so accessible. Overall this is the best theatre in the area and I highly recommend it. So go!
Those recliners are sooo comfy. You buy your ticket online and your seat is reserved. Depending on the movie and/or time, good seats might be hard to get. To me good seats are the last row. I love that movie theater but the bathrooms are on the first floor only. Parking isn't a problem on most days.
The best seats around. Reclining chairs and raised arm rests make for the best love seat. Biggest tip is to get the tickets before you go online. tickets go fast because of the little seat in area.
The theater is REALLY clean and the chairs are really comfortable. You can recline them whenever you want. The bathrooms are really nice and clean as well. The sound and screens are really good quality. The staff is super nice too.
Renovations is great, but unfortunately it has attracted more low class ignorant groups to what once was a great area.
Red leather mechanical recliner seats, seat reservations, $7 matinee, CLEAN.I've lived in Fresh Meadows for over 20 years and during that time this movie theater was a dump, but not the kind that you'd avoid because this was the theater that served the community. The floor under the seats were consistently sticky from drink spills that never got cleaned up, fabric cushion seats which looked more questionable than a warped up park bench, and the musk was ever so persistent (although you got use to it). IIRC matinees use to be $5 at this theater in the early 90s. This theater is now a place I openly recommend to all my friends. Forget College Point Cineplex and their price gouging! Come here! Seriously. Get yourself an AMC rewards membership, reserve your fee-waived tickets on Fandango, and experience a movie without stepping back into the real world with souvenirs adhered to your shoes, clothe, and pant bottoms.
Absolutely incredible gigantic red power-recliners in every theater! Nice big screens, theater is usually very clean. My favorite movie theater. I only wish they had put in an IMAX in this theater. Also, a bathroom on the upper level would be nice. It is inconvenient to have to go down to the lower level in the middle of a movie to use the restroom. But otherwise, sitting in those big red recliners is the ultimate in movie comfort and enjoyment.
Leave it to the movie theater industry to screw up a good idea…and leave it to the public to keep paying higher and higher prices.Great Idea: reserved seating and big comfy reclining chairs to watch movies the way they should be watched…on a big screen with big sound.Bad Idea: have one person on the door, and one person on the snack line during a holiday weekend-keep the place peppered with garbage and popcorn on the rugs and stairways and by no means vacuum at all during the day-don’t refill the self-help soda machines, and let the ice maker overflow so the ice falls on the floor, melts and creates a sticky slippery mess-don’t empty the garbage cans outside the theater, so you have no place to put your garbage. Better Idea: watch movies at home on an HDTV-this place is a dirty, sticky, poorly managed establishment.
You have to pre-book your seats because they're limited - so suggest joining Stubs to save the processing charge - but watching a movie from the comfort of your own private recliner. Wow. there are no words to describe it - you have to experience it yourself. This is the only theatre we'll go to anymore because it's so comfortable.
