Pros: Well cut trails, steeps and Glades. Variety of terrain. Scenic. Clean Classic Lodge. Independent, local, and unique in feel. Remote, non commercial access road. Friendly Maine staff, and courteous safe skiers.Would like to borrow/copy "ski rule" safety signs from steel lattice fixed double chair lift poles and repost them in Bethel. Too far to day trip from South of Maine. They have a Tbar. Affordable ticket prices. Cons: Too far for day trip from Portland,Maine. Limited lodging options. Limited travel routes.

First time trying out Saddleback. We liked it very much! Beautiful condos, friendly staff, nice trails! Smaller and less busy compared to the other "big ones". The double chair is really the only minor setback, as well as the hike uphill to get to a few of the black trails and glades. We had two days of great skiing here. Thanks Saddleback!

We just finished our week of skiing at Saddleback. We got our kids the Peak Pass. $149 for the season pass. The trails were awesome! The snow was great too! The issue I had this week was with the lifts. The mountain has a quad that goes to the top of the mountain. In fact, it is the only way to get to the top. It broke down on Tuesday and was shut down on Wednesday too. We were told that they had to order a part from Wisconsin. Half the mountain was not accessible. That left the resort with just a single, slow double lift to use and hundreds of disgruntled skiers trying to use it. The wait approached 25-30 minutes! I understand that things happen that are beyond Saddleback's control and to their credit, everyone who bought a ticket received a voucher for a bogo after 2/22 until the end of the season. Hopefully, we'll have better luck when we use the vouchers!

Saddleback has some truly awesome trails and glades, well maintained, cozy mountain feel. The only negative is the SLOW lifts. Mountain food/bar was pretty good too.

We come back to a slope side condo every year from New Jersey. Some of the family are expert skiers and others bunny slope aficionados. We all love it!! Lots of snow, great staff and perfect mountain!!

My daughter and family ski Saddleback every weekend. It's a wonderful family area. The kids have taken lessons each Sat with great results. It's the kind of mountain that they can be on there own with friend. It is beautifully groomed and family friendly.

This is a great, slightly retro ski resort which is great for family ski trips. The chair lifts, and t-bar are a bit retro, but so fun to have your kids experience what we grew up on. There are never big crowds or long lines...The only issue is it is a colder mountain...much like Jay Peak in my opinion.

As vacation weeks arrive I know many are headed to the mountains of Northern NewEngland.Point your car to Rangeley, Maine where the whir of your busy life slows and you can escape the crowds. Saddleback ski area offer one of the best BIG mountain experiances to be had in the EAST. 4100 foot elevation brings skier and riders plenty of fresh snow with out the long lines.

Snow day at school, took my son to the mtn for the day. Best powder skiing in years. Had lunch at the "Swig n' smelt" Great food just a little overpriced.

Ok so its east coast skiing, but this place is wicked. The scenic view from up top is amazing..looking down on the Rangely Lakes..WOW....ski runs are great with lots of variety and the snow was pretty darn nice..I was there in Feb/March 2014.....will get back there again one day, as well worth the visit.

Due to its steepness, the hike up and down Saddleback Mountain is difficult, even when using the ski trails. However, the views are tremendous throughout the hike and the real treasure is reaching the summit and then hiking the ridge. From the top, the views of the Rangeley Lake Region is incredible. Perhaps the best in the area.

Love, love, love this mountain. My kids love it as well. Great steeps, groomers and awesome glades. Mountain staff is awesome - super friendly. Real Mainers! The only thing I hope happens soon is that they get a new quad to replace the old double chair. That thing is brutal! :-)
