I definitely wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but it was really fun and easy for me and my little ones to walk the 200 yards to this Rhode Island high point. Yes, walk. This is not a hike. There is no incline. It's a pleasant stroll through a wooded area to a couple little boulders that mark the high point. We took a picnic and sat on the rocks and ate. There is a little bit of parking on the side of the road and a small sign that points to Jerimoth Hill so you know where to start walking. I actually really liked it, but you'll complete the round trip in 10 minutes so don't be thinking it's something it's not!
There's no view, there are 2 summit plates & the trail is just short & pathetic stuck between 2 yards. I'm glad I did it just to say I bagged the highest summit in Rhode Island but other than that, its just aweful. If you wanna bag the highest state sumit then you have no choice but to do it but if your looking for an outing, travel either west to the berkshires or north to the blue hills.
Make sure you pack plenty of food and water, great climb with some steep grades. worth the trip to RI highest point.
When you are looking to make your own fun, here is the highest point in RI. Not much of a hike, but there you go!
I live near Jerimoth Hill and lov e to tell people the story of the Hill. Even though it's the highest point in RI, it's the lowest highpoint in all 50 states....but for years it was the toughest one to get to!!!
