children's museum missoula

lots of things to keep the little ones busy, great staff and awesome location...will be going again !!

This is a wonderful hands on museum for children ages 3 to about 8. Children under and over those ages might enjoy it but the prime audience and most of the activities are targeted toward preschool and lower elementary aged folks. There's a dinosaur dig, fishing bridge, very very cool interactive water feature, places for pretend and dress up, places for large motor exploration (climbing up, crawling through) and a space for arts. As a former early childhood educator I wholly approve of this route of active, engaged and child directed learning. It's especially welcome during these long winter days when it's too cold or foggy to be outside for extended time.

I bring my daughter here at least once during our trip to Missoula yearly. It is a really small place and a tiny bit overpriced for what it is. If you have little ones ages 1-8 it is fun for them. I can usually pass about 2 hours here before we die of boredom.

Nice, friendly spot with lots of kids. Not really a museum. More of an indoor playground with water table, slides, climbing features. Kids liked the doctor's office with light panels to read X-rays. Art center has materials for small projects. Can get pretty crowded on rainy days. Carousel is close and worth a visit, next to a very nice public, outdoor kid park when sun is out.

Great spot to dig for dinosaur bones, play in water, dr office play area, list goes on! Plus they do arts and crafts all the time in the back room. We are season pass holders and love it. They are also doing a new promo for one price to ride the carousel all day and all day admission to museum for $7. Great deal if you have all day to spend in town.
