I visited, and loved looking at all of the art. The owner was there, and she gave me a lot of attention. She even offered me something to drink. Unfortunately, it's above my price point, but for those who can afford it, you can find some beautiful stuff there!

This art gallery is quite a gem for such a small, impoverished Southern town. Many local Southeastern artists, as well as some others. Mary McKinley is particular about the artists she will accept and has an excellent collection! Easy access off I-65. Great stop between Mobile and Montgomery while travelling. Close to interstate. Worth the trip!

My mom lives in Greenville, so I visit often from DC. The High Horse is one of a number of fun and interesting stores in downtown Greenville. The High Horse is a terrific venue for seeing the work of regional and local artists/craftsmen. It carries paintings by well known Southern painters such as Kent Walsh and Durinda Cheek and also wonderful paintings by more locally know artists. It sells crafts such as pottery, wood, and jewelry. For example, see the work of diverse Alabama craftspeople such as Harry Dearing, who makes one-of-kind furniture from beautiful pieces of wood; Kerry Leasure, who reassembles old jewelry into new creations; and Mary Brown and Rosie Floyd, who make functional pottery.The gallery space is lovely - high ceilings, lots of light - at perfect setting for art and you can even have a party or a wedding there.
