Mainly just simulcast racing wagering. Not much else since the governor and attorney general shut it down. Although the governor promised a statewide vote on the issue, which he has lied about, apparently. Shame on you Gov. Bentley for lying to the people of Alabama!!!!!!

Many of us in Ga enjoyed all the attractions. I haven't been in a few years now. Its a shame for us to have to go to Biloxi Ms. or another entertainment place to have adult clean fun.

Due to the state issue with whether or not electronic bingo is legal, that's why the machines have been seized and people have stopped coming. Due to this happening the Indian casinos of PCI Gaming have had a tremendous boost in customers. Maybe once this trial for the seized machines is over, then maybe the governor will finally "KEEP HIS PROMISE" and let us vote on the machines once and for all.

My friends and I were excited to hear that VictoryLand had re-opened and drove from Georgia to Alabama (270 mile roundtrip) to try it out. It was horrible!!! First, when you went into the front door, there was stagnant cigarette smoke. This was not cigarette smoke from people already there, it was stale cigarette smoke from the casino having been closed for 2 years. Second, there weren't many machines operational and the majority of the penny machines had a $6.00 max bet. Third, you cannot put money in the machine to play. You have to stand in very long lines at either of the two cashiers to get a card loaded up with money and you slide your card like an ATM card to play the machines. Each time you needed more money loaded onto your card, you had to leave your machine and stand in the line again. Since we didn't do this, we found out this information from one of the staff. As we were walking out of the casino a disgruntled customer was leaving and stated that she couldn't cash in the money left on her card. Instead she was told that the reamining money was a credit and on her next visit she would be able to play on the remaining money. The employee working at VictoryLand explained that this card credit system is not a result of the lawsuit, but a direct result on the bingo laws in Alabama. The place was very dead, no excitement from the few people that were there and you definitely did not hear bells and whistles of any machines paying out. I think VictoryLand will be "dead in the water," if it continues on its current path. I'm happy that we decided to leave and came home with our money in our pocket. It's better to travel to Harrah's at Cherokee or drive a littl farther and go to Biloxi than stop at VictoryLand.

Each and everytime I went to victoryland I enjoyed myself, I have not one complaint. Yes, there has been times that I have lost and there has beeen times that I've won that why it's called gambling. It's close to home only ten minutes away and the people are friendly and very helpful. Do your thing Milton McGregor and welcome back. We missed you.

If you end up here for a night of fun, something has gone wrong. The last time I went I got the feeling that no one wanted to be there. Really sad atmosphere. There was even a guy in the parking lot sifting through an old change jar to get enough money to go back in. A sad place full of desperation and loss - and I'm not anti-gambling.

Since Governor Riley went on a gambling war that put so many people out of work, they haven't been able to do much there.

Don't bother. The place is filthy and the food is horrible.

VictoryLand does not like to follow the AL Law. They were closed this past week when I past by them. They expanded but it was all gambling. not dog races.

Had a fantastic time, came out of casino a $10,000 winner! Can't wait for the casino to re-open. It is set up a little different than most slots (bingo), but the expected outcome, to (win) is the same. The environment was nice, I didn't care for the buffet?!

Having recently moved back to the West Coast, I truly miss this great stop on my road trips to Alabama from Georgia. I used to live outside of Atlanta, Georgia and visited family in Montgomery as often as possible, which was about a 3 hour drive one-way. The food in the greyhound racetrack area was always tasty, hot and reasonably priced. Service was hit or miss, but who cares when you're having fun enjoying yourself at the casino. Loved the ice cream spot there as well, and happy with the nonsmoking areas and extensive parking available. I guess I was one of the luckier ones when it came to winnings, along with my relatives, who would join me. I have never spent more than $200 in here, but have always won at least $500 or more. My favorite to play are the penny machines. I can easily hit up Las Vegas nowadays, which is about a 45-minute flight from where I am now (San Diego, CA), but I will still have fond memories for this spot in Shorter, AL, which was still a whole lot of fun! Too bad for all the problems between the casino owners and the governmental powers that be, and hope that gets resolved soon, especially for all the employees!

My husband and I live in Georgia and enjoy coming to play the bingo machines (slots), but no matter when we come, WE NEVER WIN! We never hear of anyone winning unless they announce 1-3 winners of 1000 or 2000, but we certainly never win. I think the machines are extremely tight. It is very disgusting to hear about the feud between the governor and the owner of Victoryland. Good Grief! Just close permanently or open! I feel sorry for the employees who are jerked back and forth. Why can you people not reach a decision? Either the machines are legal or they are not. Who is in charge here??????

i have a great time there at victoryland. i spent 5 dollars and won 8,600.00 dollars. it helped me out so much.ever time i go i always come home with more money than i came with. i watch what i do and if i feel the machine is not gonna pay a little something than i leave that machine. i watch other people and see how long they stay at a machine and what they have put in it as far as money. when they get up than i sit down and try my luck. but this is something you never know about. i pray and wish good luck to all and just have a great time. god bless us all. marie

This place is a lame attempt at being a casino, I've been coming to "Victoryland" for quite a few years and its payouts from the "bingo" slots have been none exsistant for the last several years. I've been unable to hit a decent payout no matter how much money I feed into these machines! And why are the machines constantly being reset, they'll spin and spin and spin, especially if the person playing is starting win a little money! A real casino actually will publish their win / loss ratios on a monthly basis, no one knows what this guy makes (profits) in a year, but I'm sure everyone would be surprised at the staggering amount of this "Casino's" profits. I'd rather be in Biloxi or Vegas anytime!

We got a great room at this new hotel for $92. It's all non-smoking but no coffeemakers in the room. Starbucks coffee in the lobby for $2.15. Staff is exceptionally friendly. Breakfast buffet is $9 but service was practically non-existent. I asked who the two women were who'd been standing around the hour I had waited for a coffee refill and found they were supervisors. Casino allows smoking but is exceptionally well ventilated. Don't expect too much in the "Clubhouse" (watching the greyhounds race). The food is actually very good but service is hit-and-miss. It's crowded and reservations are confusing to say the least. and unless you know "Lucille" (as obviously most African Americans seem to) don't expect a good seat. Overall, most staff and patrons were very friendly. but when you are waiting for a cashier to get your change, you have to wait until they finish their conversation with the other employees until you get your money. There is a pattern here but you can quickly figure it out for yourself - and it's not exclusive to Victoryland.
