The pagoda is a volunteer-built temple to peace built by a Japanese Buddhist monk. Located up a little path, you immediately get the tranquil feeling when you come upon it. Next to it is a nice Japanese garden, complete with lily pond and one of those rock gardens with the rakes. There's also a monk's residential building under construction next door. A truly unique place.

Looking for an outing for a couple of hours... My wife and I wanted to get out on a lovely Sunday (Easter). We took a mystery ride to the New England Peace Pagoda, not knowing much ore about it than were it was (GoogleMaps). After arriving at the parking lot, it is about a quarter of am mile walk, easy but uphill) to reach the grounds of the Pagoda. Trip was well worth it. The "Pagoda" itself is a fascinating, white dome structure with recesses on 4 sides with Buddas, etc inset. The grounds are meant for walking around, sitting and contemplation. You would want to go when the weather is nice. I do not know what is available for restroom facilities, but some are available. People with difficulty walking can drive up to the grounds and be let off, with parking a little way away.
