I have been coming to this theater for some time now. in the morning everyone gets a huge discount after 6 there is senior and military discount. it is old fashioned stadium seating, no stairs.the CEO of the company has begun 2 years ago remodeling all the cinemas in the company. this year is Dartmouth's turn. the newer side has been completed is now open ,unfortunately they have started on the older side , unfortunate because they only have 4 screens until that side is done some time later this year. expect many shows to be sold out and limited movie choices(4) however the new seats, bathrooms, lobby, price and snack bar make this a definite must go to watch movies
I have been going here for many years and love the new stadium seating across from the old theatres. Unfortunately the last 2 movies I went to see were in the old theatres and once you get used to the other ones your disappointed in the old seats. I would really love to see them upgraded even if they need to raise the price. Stadium seating is the only way to really enjoy the full effects of a movie with the latest technology.
I used to come to this theater all the time as a teenager. Now that I'm an adult and moved back to the area, I assumed that like me, it had changed with the times. It hasn't. It seems they have the same facilities as they had in the 90s. My husband and I have given this theater a try a few times because it's close to our home. It's always the same, though. The seating is not desirable, especially when compared to nearby Swansea or Seekonk, and it always seems that we're trapped in a theater with noisy, disruptive people. The last time we attempted to see a movie here, we just walked out and gave up on this theater. It wasn't worth the aggravation.
This is not the worst movie theater that I have ever been in.....but it certainly is not the best. I can remember when this was a General Cinemas back in the 1970's, when I lived in the area as a kid. It doesn't seem to have had any renovations since then. There are only two movie theaters in the general area, and I suggest going to the other one. The layout of this theater is poor with half of the theaters being in a different location. If I recall correctly; there are also no student discounts. Most of the big movie theater chains have a points program, whereas they issue you a card that they scan and you earn points for free movies and concessions stands deal. These programs are free, but AMC....which this theater belongs to....actually makes you pay an annual fee for their program card. If you are close and want to see a movie, then this place is okay. However, they need a complete renovation of their property, and of their price and points system. Only one rabbit ear up!!(\ (\( -.-)o_(")(")
