Brougham

Visited on a Saturday in March, was thinking it might be super busy but it wasn't bad!Went with my wife and my 13+14 year old boys. Exhibits were interesting enough to keep us all entertained for about three hours. This was one of the attractions on the city pass which cost $49 for four attractions. The entrance price here was normally $23 each. Parking tip! Park at Cambridgeside Mall which was about a block away and cost about 1/3 of the price it would cost at the museum.

For those of you with science museum memberships in a different city, this museum participates in the reciprocity program, enabling you free access with your membership card. Admission to this science center is EXPENSIVE, so if you've considered getting a membership at your local museum, it would be wise to do so before visiting the Boston Science Museum. Also, the museum offers free Imax movies in March, as long as you get there in time to get tickets before they hand them all out. We saw the Imax on Galapagos, and it was beautifully done. I'm not a particular fan of Darwin or his theories, and I've yet to find a science-related Imax fan which doesn't pepper their movies with his evolutionary viewpoints. Galapagos was no exception, but it was still worth seeing. The 4-D show is well worth doing, as is the planetarium. My kids loved the exhibits, especially the area where they could experiment with motion, levers, pulleys, etc. (Level 2). I thought the photography exhibit on contemporary food was intriguing. PLENTY to do and see on any day. We were there around 4 on a Friday, and we stayed until 8pm. It started getting crowded around 6pm. There is a T station very close to this museum.

We took my friend's little boy with us to visit this museum. It is such a fun place for kids and adults alike! The dinosaur exhibit is fantastic and the museum has several exhibits that are hands-on for kids including one that is about the science of the playground that is super fun for kids and adults. You can easily spend a good chunk of your day at this museum. The exhibits are great and the admission price is on par with other science centers/museums I have visited. If you're looking for something to do with kids in Boston, this is the place!

We just visited the Boston Museum of Science for the second time. We love it even more! We have a membership and I strongly recommend it , especially if you have children. We live 4 hours away from the museum, so we can't visit very often but it's still worth getting a membership. The children have so much to learn ! And it's all so interesting and cool and there's still a lot of areas that we haven't explored yet . Great educational place ! You won't regret it !

The Museum is great, but you have to deal with a lot of children, the electric show was the best thing there, all the exhibits were good, the Mayan exhibit was very good, everything there is a self led exhibit.

This museum is so fun, interactive, and inherently interesting that my son (aged 9) and I spent six hours here today, and wished we could have spent more. The highlights for us were: a computer ecosystem game in which you can program different imaginary, on-screen fish to interact with an existing underwater ecosystem; an interactive display about Robobees, robot bees being designed by engineers right now to do the work of biological bees - very cool! - in which you can choose to send them on particular missions; and a great project station, staffed by very kind, patient, and intelligent engineers, at which you could try your hand at engineering a platform for a zip line, using lots of cool equipment and loose craft items, according to your own creative idea, with the support - as needed, according to what you want to do or how much help you say you need. It was so much fun, we actually lost track of time. The Hayden Planetarium is attached. We saw a great show in the planetarium there today, about NASA. Be aware, though, that the planetarium is there just for these shows - in addition to the actual show room, there is a small display about our solar system, which we enjoyed for half an hour, and that's it.The cost today for two passes to the museum (one adult, one child) plus two tickets to one 50-minute show at the planetarium, was $56. However, we were very happy there for six hours, so it didn't seem like bad value for what we received in return. We had to exit the museum (and go through the ticket-giving barrier) about four times today, as the cafeteria, planetarium, and museum store are all outside the main museum, in a separate, but attached area. It was no problem, however, as the passes are good for one day, and you just need to restamp your hand each time you leave, and that will let you back in. All in all, this place is so great. If you're in Boston and love scoence, you should go!

We went for the Mayan exhibit in preparation for a trip to the Yucatan, postponed for many years. It had also been many years since our last visit to the Museum where previously we had spent many hours as parents and even a notable overnight or two with girl scouts. The exhibit was quite large with lots of interactive stations that focused on building, learning how to read hieroglyphs and following their history through three periods. We spent about an hour in the uncrowded gallery. Skip the movie, it's more than 20 years old.

Went to view two films at the Mugar Omni Theatre. It was a wonderful experience. The chairs are very comfortable, the sound system the best have ever heard, and the 360 degree viewing was unique. Felt like you were actually there. There are so many various exhibits at the museum that there is something for everyone.

as a kid i used to come here once a twice a month ( being a member is perfect for situations like this . skip the line and get right in! ) The last time i went before this was 3 years ago and I remember that i was a little upset that the place wasn't up kept like it should be with all the donations it receives.However.. this time I went, I was blown away. Not only was it clean, but they have added so many interactive machines that makes learning that much more fun! The Mayan exhibit was well worth the additional extra dollars as it was my favorite part!...if the MOS ends up reading this... PLEASE FIX THE MUSICAL STAIRS :)
