cruz del vigia

We visited the Cruz del Vigia 'cross tower' on 02/16/2015. We managed to drive all the way up past a very impoverished northern Ponce neighborhood in order to get to the mountain side. As we proceeded forward, the houses started to get more luxurious but with a mixture of villas and vacant properties. As we parked at the top of the mountain, we saw the Vigia, which is supposed to be a observatory deck. The views are very nice looking out at the southern region of Ponce. We took some nice pictures of the site, but since we went on a national holiday, the attraction was closed so all we could do is take pictures from outside. There really was not much to do after that, but it was nice while we were there. Interestingly enough, the Castillo Castle was literally right across the street.

It was raining pretty heavy for a couple of days and we visited the cross.... Rain was leaking in the elevator, through electrical outlets and at the top. Elevator hesitated and the stairs were not permissible. Zen garden salvaged this experience.

From the top of the Cruz there are some amazing views to be had of the city and Carribean. Well worth the trip!

One trip two attraction. One view. And elevator take you to the top where you are free to safety walk around and takes pictures. This will be you first top view of Castillo Serralles. Japanese Garden are also been build in la Cruceta del Vigia.

Sure you will see a great view of Ponce but that's all you pay for since the computers that tell you more about the history of the place run Windows 95 with a bad monitor. I believe it is not worth it.

Being claustrophobic I didn't like the idea of it but I tried it anyways. The stairs are for emergencies only (also is 10 floors to get to the top). The view is amazing but being that high I felt little dizzy. It's really amazing to see all the way to the ocean.

Nice views and provides a good shot to photograph the Castle. The attached Japanese garden can easily be skipped.

When you go in they have a display of and old store ad house that is really charming, the building is not pretty but is interesting. I have to admit that because I'm afraid of heights I was on the observation floor for less than 3 minutes but theres not much up there except for the view that it is espectacular!

Got go there to see the view, but can't they find a way to make this place beautiful. It is dated and Pelly maintained.

If you go to Ponce, you have to go to the Cruzeta, as natives call it. It's right next to the Serralles castle and offers a spectacular view of Ponce and surrounding area.

If you take the drive to "El Castillo Serralles" then you should take a walk across the street to enjoy "La Cruz del Vigia". A beautiful view of the city and and the sea.

The only think to do here is to see the view of the amazing view of all Ponce. There is nothing else and the area is not so big.

Just a few steps from El Castillo Serralles you will find La Cruz del Vigia. The opportunity of the spectacular view of the city of Ponce and the Caribbean Sea is without comparison. Don't miss it!

This cross did not exist when I lived there 30 years ago. The view is amazing, bring a good camera for great pictures

in Ponce but it has road up to the top , in the top you will find la cruz del vigia and la mansion serralles you have the best view of the city of Ponce , Pto Rico
